Convenient, easy and as quick as possible.! I don't love having to bring my car in for regular services, but Luther Westside Volkswagen makes it a pleasant experience. They do a great job of explaining what they are doing, how long it will take, and update you throughout the process. The dealership and waiting area are super clean. $650 surprise, added stress, more stress, even more stress After spending over $1300 for a 140,000mi checkup in June, I am surprised that my dashboard mechanical light came on only 2.5 months later. I was flo After spending over $1300 for a 140,000mi checkup in June, I am surprised that my dashboard mechanical light came on only 2.5 months later. I was floored that Westside VW wanted $130 just to plug their computer into my car for a diagnosis! Seriously, a diagnosis cost $130, medical appointments don't cost that much! Furthermore it took 1.5 hours! I made an appointment for the next morning to have the work done. In the morning my paperwork was labeled "Waiter" and the desk guy came to me 45 minutes later to say they were waiting for the mechanic who diagnosed the problem to come in to work on it. Do you understand I have to take off work to wait for my car to get done? To be hit with an auto repair bill, I need to work. Taking time off without pay is additional stress I do not need. I mentioned this the night before after the diagnosis and the morning of the appointment. He then arranged for me to get a rental if I could return it by 4pm. My problem is not only the lack of a rental in the first place, but the amount charged for labor. First $130 to diagnose a problem your computer actually diagnosed and then $387 for 2.5 hrs of work. I doubt you pay your mechanics over $150/hr? At $150+/hr, I should be offered a courtesy car immediately PLEASE do not suggest that there is a "courtesy" van available to drive me home , 11 miles, or to drive me to work, 12 miles. To say a "courtesy" van can only go within a 5 mile radius is a joke, unless you have a VW dealership located every 10 miles. More
