I made an appointment to test drive a new Subaru Impreza. When I arrived they were no ready for me and then told me they had none in stock. They had me test drive a used Subaru Crosstrek instead. This is the second Nissan we have leased from Lynnes. The first a 2012 Altima Coupe, and now after an offer to turn in the coupe, we have re-leased a fully loaded 2014 Altima2.5 SL sedan. I can't say enough about dealing with Lynnes, especially Sheriff. He makes the car buying process easy and fun and always comes through with a great deal. There is a $120 diagnostic charge even if you don't get your car repaired there. That's not the problem.The problem is that you're not always explicitly told they will run a diagnostic beforehand, but they ask you to sign something that covers them on that and they seem to run a diagnostic for EVERYTHING! I learned this after my husband took our car in several months ago for an oil change and asked about a noise we heard. The only work done was the oil change, yet we were charged $144.23. When I questioned the charge I was told it was for a diagnostic and that my husband signed for it not realizing he was authorizing this charge beforehand. He thought he was signing a service agreement or something allowing them to change the oil. Today I called them reporting that our windshield wiper wasn't properly working and asked if a charge would be given to simply look at it. I was told they might need to run a diagnostic or charge for the time it takes to figure out the problem because it could take several hours. I called another dealer and was told that if the problem could physically be seen by taking a look there was no charge... makes total sense to me! However, my husband figured it out in 10 minutes! Seems we only needed to tighten the nut at the base. I will not take my car back to this dealer because I don't trust them. I have no problem paying for a reasonable bill, but don't swindle customers into paying extra cost for unnecessary diagnostics. THAT'S BAD BUSINESS!!! It's also bad business to not clearly state what will be charged BEFOREHAND! If I can't trust that you're giving me honest business, I can't trust you with my car! More
So I saw this car on #autotrader at $12,990 at 22,000 miles and as of February 10,2014 it was $12,480. I go today, test drive, and want to buy it. However, the carfax listed it at 29,000 miles-- 7000 mil miles and as of February 10,2014 it was $12,480. I go today, test drive, and want to buy it. However, the carfax listed it at 29,000 miles-- 7000 miles more then advertised. When I asked if there was anything Al, the manager, could do on price, he said it was a great deal at $13,990. When I showed him the autotrader ad at $12,480 he said that was a "discrepancy" and wrong. 1. The car was listed at 7000 miles less then it was but that was a discrepancy too 2. The car was listed at $12,480 but that was a discrepancy even though it was reduced in the past 2 weeks 3. Al can't budge on the $12,480 price even though there is a 7000 mile difference from the ad on the car and he feels it's ok to tell me to leave if I don't like it? So the car i came into see just gained 7000 miles and i should be "happy" to get it at the "discrepancy" price? Wasted 2 hours of my time on a #baitandswitch! Bad way to do business! I just searched for the car again and it is newly listed at $13,990 yet the mileage still says 22,000 miles so they are still lying. More
