Dealership was actually the least helpful in my whole process. Set me with a sales rep then cancelled them and left me hanging - luckily JJ came in to secure the sale. Todd stamps is probably the nicest salesperson I’ve met so far for the car industry. I went to many other car companies and a lot of the sale person would use the method of agressive selling which forces t so far for the car industry. I purchased my very first car on 11/10/2019 (2016 Honda Fit) and had a questio Please read if you are considering purchasing a vehicle at Maita Honda. I purchased my very first car on 11/10/2019 (2016 Honda Fit) and had a questionable experience from the very beginning. Since this was my first-time car shopping, I brought my mom along for some help. Dal was my sales person, I told him exactly what type of car I wanted and gave him the budget I had to work with. The first numbers he ran were not even close to my budget. Before he met my budget, he asked “what is an extra $20 per month” which I thought was rude…but he ultimately met me where I wanted. After agreeing on the price my mom decided to leave while I waited to sign the paperwork. As soon as she left, I waited almost 2 hours until the finance guy Paul was ready to meet with me. While I waited, Dal completely disappeared to help a new customer (which was fine, but I did not get any update on wait time). When Paul was finally ready to see me, I felt like he zoomed through the paperwork. I know I probably should have asked more questions, but I felt very rushed in his office. Once my credit card was swiped Dal came back to hand me the keys without asking if there was anything else, I needed. I basically drove away without knowing what half the buttons in the car were used for. Let’s fast forward to 12/27/19. I was driving home to San Francisco from my parent’s house in Sacramento. While driving I noticed some rattling coming from the bottom of my car. I pulled over on the side of the road and called a Honda service center in San Francisco. They asked for my CNA car warranty number and when I gave it, they said the warranty was not active. They ensured it should be active since I purchased the car over a month ago and advised me to call the dealership. Please note I was leaving for a road trip to San Diego the next day, so I needed to get the car looked at ASAP. When I called Maita Honda, Paul was busy, so I waited over 2 hours to hear back from him. When I was finally able to speak with him, he told me the warranty paperwork was never filed and should be good to go now. I’m sorry but this paperwork should have been filed the day I purchased the car! At this point, it is too late to take my car in to be looked at, so I was forced ask a friend to borrow their car for my 5-day road trip to San Diego. On 1/3/20 I take my car into Marin Honda at 9am to be looked at. They advise me the passenger front wheel of my vehicle was missing two lug nuts and they could replace them for $125. They said the lug nuts were most likely loose when the car was sold to me and fell off while driving the vehicle. I thought $125 sounded steep but I had no other option. I was advised the Honda and the CNA warranty would not cover the repair, but Maita Honda should reimburse me because I have had the car for less than 2 months. While waiting for the repair I called Paul at Maita and he was apologetic for another mishap and said his manager would take care of it. I waited over 4 hours for a callback but never heard anything. I decided to call Paul and was told he was no longer with the company? I was very confused since I just spoke with him that morning but apparently, he quit during lunch?! I asked to speak with Dal and explained the situation. He said he would forward the receipt over to his manager and would get back to me by the end of the day. Finally, at 5:30PM I get a call from a man name Clark. He starts the conversation with a defensive tone. He basically tells me Maita Honda will not take responsibility for the missing lug nuts. He tells me they inspect their vehicles to the fullest and would never sell a vehicle with missing lug nuts. I tell him I don’t think they were missing but just loose, he then goes on to tell me that someone must have tried stealing my wheels and that’s why they were missing. I’m sorry, but this is impossible because my car was parked in my parents’ garage from 12/23-12/27 but ok Clark whatever helps you sleep at night. He rambles some more and tells me $125 was a ridiculous price to pay for 2 lug nuts and I should have just gone to them to get them replaced. I’m sorry but I live in San Francisco- my car would not have made it 98 miles to Citrus Heights. Since our conversation was not going anywhere, I asked to speak to his manager. Alex got on the phone right away and was even ruder than Clark. He told me I was being hysterical and refused to pay the $125 bill. I honestly feel if I were a man, I feel I would have been treated better. Since I am woman, they thought I would just lay down and take no for an answer, but they were wrong. After going back and forth with Alex for about 5 minutes he hung up on me. I am sharing this experience because I do not want anyone else to be treated the way I was. Please think twice about purchasing your car for Maita Honda, I am sure there are other trustworthy dealerships in the area. More
