I have been fairly happy with this service center for years. However, this time I felt pressured and "upsold" on service. I looked at the recommended list and questioned the need at 30,000 to do some of years. However, this time I felt pressured and "upsold" on service. I looked at the recommended list and questioned the need at 30,000 to do some of the items, particularly draining and replacing my transmission fluid. I was told they would check it and, then, that it needed to be done. I have had many vehicles over 50 years, including ones I maintained myself when younger. I have never had a vehicle need transmission service at 30,000, especially in a vehicle that gets light use. (This is my second Odyssey, the first never needing this service.) Some have gone close to 75,000 without the fluid showing a need to be changed. I was assured it showed the need, but I did not see the dipstick. I trusted your service department to be straight. I said go ahead. Because all this took much longer than planned, I was given a loaner. America was very nice and I really think she just followed the script and the service department lead. I hate to think she deliberately misled me, but I can't be sure. When I got home and checked the Honda service guides, I saw recommended transmission service was 60,000 to 90,000, based on the need shown by inspection, not an automatic thing. I now have a level of distrust for your service department. It has not been convenient to use your department as I live in Sebastopol, and you are a bit more expensive than independent service places I use for other vehicles, but I kept coming because you are Honda rather than a general service center. Now I will need to think about it. More
