Mission Accomplished - Finally Everyone is very nice and tries to be helpful, but patience was the word of the day. Being from out of town we made the appointment far enough ahead t Everyone is very nice and tries to be helpful, but patience was the word of the day. Being from out of town we made the appointment far enough ahead to be able to get a loaner car as it was estimated that the work oil change, rotate tires, check transmission) could take a few hours. Arrived at 10:00am and went for a ride with the tech to get a feel for the transmission issues, which turned out to being not an issue;so now were down to just oil change and rotate tires. After discussing the handling issues we had with the car this winter, the dealership suggested that they could check the alignment, which we agreed to. We also understood that if the car was out of alignment, if would cost ~$100.00 to re-align which we agreed to and could take 2 hours, so we're back on the original time estimate for completion of work as the transmission work which we are not going to do was estimated at ~ 2 hours. Left dealership and was contacted at 10:40 am and informed that oil change was done, tire rotation was not recommended and that air filter should be changed. Agreed with both tire rotation and air filter change. Returned at 1:10 pm and was told that the car would be about 1/2 hour. At about 1:45 - 2:00 pm went to desk and found out that the alignment check had not yet started!! which is about 3 hours after the oil change was done? The alignment check was finally completed and no adjustments were needed. Checked entrance exit bay for car and saw it setting there so went to desk to check out and was able to leave about 3:00 pm. I'm glad the work was able to be done in one trip. If you have only one machine to do alignments, it seems it would be possible to know if you offer and add an alignment the same day, if it's even possible to do it that day, or when it's likely to happen that day. Sounds like you night have had a VW parked on the alignment machine for a longtime? I appreciate the feedback I got with the work that was done. The service people I interfaced with were very friendly and helpful,but it seemed very frantic like someone was missing from the staff or the service area is just disorganized, or ??? Thanks More
