The reason your vehicle could not be diagnosed when you were in has nothing to do with staffing. We do care very much about all of our customer's time and schedules. Allowing you to cut ahead of everyone who is already on our schedule for a certified technician to look at their car would not be fair to any customer who has patiently waited for their appointment. It was our oil change team who notated you have an oil leak. They are not certified technicians, making them unable to diagnose the issue. It would have been incredibly irresponsible of our team to notice any issue and not relay the concern to the customer. Letting a customer leave, knowing the vehicle was leaking fluid, and not saying anything is very unethical, and not something anyone on our team would do. Our certified technicians have a schedule that is full, so you do need an to book a separate appointment. The diagnosis fee is $140. It would have been that whether someone had looked at the issue that day or when you come back for your next appointment. Our technicians all deserve to be paid for the time they take to do any work on any vehicle. We are not able to say if any repair is ever under warranty without first diagnosing the problem. There are several factors that could lead to something not being repaired under warranty, making a clear yes or no answer impossible to give you at the time you asked. When you bring the vehicle back for your appointment to diagnosis the leak, we will be able to tell you at that time if it is covered.
