The dealership lied and reneged on a deal I bought a 2020 Corolla from Mark Jacobson Toyota a few months ago. Brought my wife in to buy a car a few days ago. Just for clarity, this complaint h I bought a 2020 Corolla from Mark Jacobson Toyota a few months ago. Brought my wife in to buy a car a few days ago. Just for clarity, this complaint has nothing to do with the salesman, only about the manager Jim Malpede . We were told we had a deal for a 2019 Camry at certain parameters. We were told that the deal we agreed upon included no money down. I confirmed there would be no money down numerous times between myself and the salesman over the phone and via text. When we returned to purchase the car, we sat down with the salesman to sign the paperwork. the salesman informed us that he had the wrong paperwork because there was no money down for this deal. the salesman said he would be right back with the correct paperwork. However, the manager Jim Malpede came over and nastily told us that we misunderstood the offer, we got our wires crossed, and that this was our fault because we were supposed to put money down for this deal. Jim was very condescending and spoke down to us. In fact, he acted like he was the smartest guy in the room. When I informed him I was a bit annoyed that this was happening, his response was "don't get the car." We wound up going to Honda instead, since Jim told us to walk out. This experience was especially shocking because my wife and I have bought two cars from Mark Jacobson before. Instead of continuing a business relationship with this dealership, I will never purchase a car from them again. More
