Misleading Service at Marsall Mize FORD in Hixson TN. Beware of the BAD Service department,2009 Ford F150 1. Service Advisor – Greg Kraft 2. Vehicle Inspection performed by Patmor James LIC# xxx 3. Invoice # xxxxx. 4. My truck was brought in to check the transmission for erratic shifting. 5. I was informed by the Service Advisor that my truck had High miles and wanted to know how long I had planned on keeping it 3 months another year. ( He is a service advisor not the car salesman. I am there for service for my truck and not to buy a car/truck,) I was told there was no code issues and the first step would be to Remove the pan and check the valve body inspection or if planning to keep the truck longer to replace the transmission with a remanufactured one and transmission cooler also to keep a 3yr warranty on the transmission. 6. So I request to the service advisor that I would like to have the PCM and TCM software load updated with the latest software codes. And make sure the transmission fluid is full. The Service advisor contacted me and said the truck was ready. Picked up my truck and drove it home. 7. Note: On my receipt it shows mileage in and out and my truck was not driven. So how do you know what is wrong. 8. So I took the 2009 F150 to a local shop and they look at it. I was very surprised to find out that my trucks transmission was 3 ½ quarts low and when was driven with the computer hook to it did have code issues 3 of them. They corrected the the codes and removed the pan and found no issues and did a transmission tuneup and I have no issues. 1800 miles on it. 9. Now If the service department at Marshall Mize Ford done their job and followed there Manual or whatever they used Checkout form. They would have found the issue the first time. I feel like everything they told me was misleading, Fraudulent trying to sell me things that are not needed. Because this dealer has a very poor service department. What about code of ethics? Polices? 10. So I’m out xxx.00 for Marshall Mize for the Software updates and a rental car for that week for xxx.00 and the local transmission shop xxx.74 dollars and another rental car for xxx.00. And now I’m out xxxx.73 for the service. It would have been less if the service department there new what they are doing. 11. I have filed reports with the BBB, Ford corporate, Consumer protection agency and more to come. More
