I have had experiences with other dealerships across this country during my younger years. Since 2010 and 2014 when I purchased my trucks, I have had nothing but good luck, response, and professionalism wit country during my younger years. I have been dealing with some electrical issues with my 2013 Ford C-Max Energi, which is a plug-in hybrid car. I am not typically a Ford guy, but the value of this one versus a Toyota or Honda made sense 2013 Ford C-Max Energi, which is a plug-in hybrid car. Typically, the hybrid batteries on these vehicles last eight to 10 years, so keep that in mind as this story progresses. About three weeks or so ago, I was flagged down on Hwy 153 (while driving) by a gentlemen who let me know my brake lights were out. That was odd to me, as one of them had been replaced not long ago. A couple of Saturdays ago, my father-in-law, who is a retired mechanic, went into the back of the vehicle to check the fuses. One was removed, tested, and put back in. That didn't seem to help the issues with the brake lights. When I attempted to start the C-Max to leave and take my son home, a couple of different messages appeared on the dash that I hadn't seen before. And the car wouldn't start. It appeared the electrical system wasn't registering. The main battery was disconnected to see if things would reset, but that didn't do anything. Nothing seemed to solve the problem, so I was going to have to take it to a dealership (at least I believed that was the best move). I called Marshal Mize Monday morning but wasn't able to reach anyone until later that afternoon. I spoke to a service advisor there and told him exactly what I have written here that lead to the issue. I had it towed to them, but I was told it may not be able to get looked at until the following week. However, I started to receive communication on Tuesday that they had begun to work on it. On Wednesday, I was presented two scenarios. One was $3,200 to replace the modules that were bad. Even if I did that repair, there was no guarantee that the battery was good (remember the life expectancy of such a battery). If scenario two was necessary to replace the battery, it would be $10,200. Mind you, I only paid $8,400 for the car two years ago. So, if I did #1 but that didn't work, I would also have to pay #2. Or I could go straight to #2. With the used car market the way it is, finding a replacement car would be more than the hybrid battery replacement on my car. So, I was obviously in a bind. After discussion with a trusted voice, I decided to have the battery replaced. But I didn't want the dealership to do it at the outrageous cost. With my ten years in the car business, I contacted a reliable source who put me in touch with a mechanic in Ringgold, Georgia. I found a battery online that would come with a three-year warranty that would get me through the rest of the time I plan to keep the car. I had the car towed again, this time to Ringgold. And I had the battery shipped directly to the mechanic. Both the vehicle and the battery arrived there on Tuesday. On Wednesday, I heard from the mechanic. He told me that when he put the new hybrid battery in and put everything back together, the car still wouldn't start. But after doing some research, he has able to trace the issue. The fuse that was removed a couple of weeks ago had been accidently put into the wrong slot. It was actually put one slot below where it belonged, but because there wasn't a fuse there, the battery couldn't communicate with the car. The only thing I had specifically mentioned to Marshal Mize had obviously been ignored. I reached out to the service advisor for an explanation, and all he would tell me is that the mechanic checked that. If he had, he would have noticed that the fuse wasn't where it belonged. Plus, the write up they gave me, which was basically a play-by-play of what exactly was done (including pushing the car into the shop and also me refusing any repairs), did NOT include anything about checking the fuses. It really appears that step was skipped, leading directly to the big ticket repairs. While we cannot 100% guarantee that the older hybrid battery is good, it is truly the belief of the mechanic in Ringgold that there was nothing wrong with the battery or the modules. With the car firing up immediately after the fuse was properly placed, it would appear that I could have gotten more time out of my current battery. All-in-all, with the two tow bills, the hybrid battery, the Marshal Mize labor, and the labor from the mechanic in Ringgold, we are out $5,365.50. Obviously there would have at least been a tow bill and maybe a couple of hours of diagnosis at the dealership, but a replacement battery would not have been necessary at this time. This is a HUGE miss by Marshal Mize, and again, it appears to me like I may have been taken for quite a ride. I CANNOT recommend their service department, and I would advise you to call around before having your vehicle serviced there. More

I bought my truck Oct 4 2021. Today is Jan 5 2022. To this day I still have not received my tag. My sales person Jonas was great. Megan the title and tag clerk should be fired. I am out of state. She turned in the paperwork wrong the first time so it got returned instead of calling me, who lives in the state that sent it back, Megan took it upon herself to do what was easy for her. Once I finally get my tag she will cost me about $2,500.00 in property tax. It’s a F350 so it’s a commercial vehicle. Oh and so much for 3 months of free Sirius radio. Who wants to sit in your garage and listen to the radio after all my temporary tag expired November 4th and yes I have made 3 payments on something I can’t drive! Steer clear of Marshal Mize Ford.
