Tonya was excellent. But since McDonald took over from Erlich, it is getting a reputation for recommending maintenance that is not in the maintenance schedule of the man More

McDonald Toyota Greeley responded

ghadlow, I apologize that we did not do a better job of explaining why changing brake fluid in a given time interval vs mileage is so important. General research will show that you should generally replace brake fluid based on time, not just mileage, with a common recommendation being every two years, regardless of miles driven. Brake fluid is hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs moisture from the air over time, which lowers its boiling point and can lead to brake failure. Toyota specifically recommends that it be changed every 2 years or 30,000 miles. Why time matters more than mileage Moisture Absorption: Brake fluid is designed to absorb water to prevent internal corrosion, and a lack of this absorption would result in a rigid sealed system. Over time, this absorbed water significantly lowers the fluid's boiling point, which can result in dangerous brake fade or failure. Hygroscopic Nature: The fluid attracts and holds water from the atmosphere, even if the system appears sealed. This process happens at a microscopic level, so you can't see the moisture. On a side note, why "another shop" would tell you otherwise would raise concerns to me. We always do our best to not "discredit" someone else in hopes to gain someone's business. Please let us know if we may assist you further in the future.

I'd rather not say, but my 3 stars had to do with the man who checked me out that day--not the person who checked me in (she was very professional). More

Amanda was very efficient and made me feel like I was important to her as a customer and as a person. I am an older person and have often been treated as though I hardly exist by others. More
