Jody was very professional and worked very hard to satisfy me. He would not give up until he made a sale. Although his price wasn't the lowest in the area his overall deal, which included service an satisfy me. He would not give up until he made a sale. Although his price wasn't the lowest in the area his overall deal, which included service and loner incentives and his overall personality made his deal the overall best, he even gave me his home phone number and called me three or four times in the last week to make sure that the dealership staff were following up on his promisses. I didn't only buy a new car I also made a new friend. I have bought many new cars in my lifetime and have never had an experience equal to the one at McGrath Hyundai. I would not hesitate to return there myself or send anyone else there for any type of car. More
I came from Florida searching for a new Santa Fe. I visited several dealerships including Jenkins Hyundai in Florida; Loren Hyundai, O'Hare Hyundai and McGrath City Hyundai in Illinois; Suntrup Hyundai visited several dealerships including Jenkins Hyundai in Florida; Loren Hyundai, O'Hare Hyundai and McGrath City Hyundai in Illinois; Suntrup Hyundai in St. Louis, Mo.; and Zimbrick Hyundai in Wisconsin. While all the dealerships were professional and courteous, McGrath City Hyundai was heads and shoulders above the rest. Of particular note was Jody Adams and his sales team (Allison and Joe). The service department was also very accomodating and installed my tow package without a hitch (excuse the pun!!). This is my fourth new Hyundai and I am extremely pleased with the workmanship and performance. I traded my 2006 Elantra (from Jenkins Hyundai in on a 2010 Genesis Coupe (from Rosen), bought a 2008 Santa Fe from Zimbrick Hyundai and traded it in on my new 2011 Santa Fe at McGraths City Hyundai. As you can see, I really did shop around for my new Santa Fe. I finally settled on McGrath as they are in my opinion the best dealership I have dealt with. They made the trip well worth the effort and I will continue to do business with them. They should be the bench mark against which to compare other dealerships. On a scale of one to ten I would give them a twelve. Sincerely, Jeffrey Couch More
Disgusted by service, was spoken to in a very degrading manner, general manager was disrespectful and unable to assist, finance personel kept waiting for hours and threw our papaer owrk at us when we were manner, general manager was disrespectful and unable to assist, finance personel kept waiting for hours and threw our papaer owrk at us when we were through signing. Car was "purchased" Saturday 11/27 and as of 11/29 has not been picked up and was never driven off of lot and now sale cannot even be cancelled. car is not even in possesion of owner. Jody was disrespectful and nasty. Would strongly advise not to purchse from McGrath! More
I had been looking for a used vehicle for several months. I had finally found one on autotrader but it was over 2 hours away from my home. I had called the sales department at least 3 different times prior t I had finally found one on autotrader but it was over 2 hours away from my home. I had called the sales department at least 3 different times prior to making the drive. When i got there and looked at the vehicle i was interested in there were 3 huge dents in the rear bumper, a softball size dent on the passenger door and about 1/4 of the front bumper MISSING. I was obviously furious at this point due to the fact that the information was never disclosed to me on the internet or the three phone calls i had made to them personally. When i went inside to talk with JODY the sales manager who was the same man i had talked to the 3 times prior he did not stand up to shake my hand greet me in any sort of professional manor and sat back in his chair twirling his pen as if i was the least of his concerns. As if that wasnt bad enough prior to making the trip i had disclosed my personal financial situation to him again on numerous occasions only for him to tell me there wouldnt be anything he could do for me that night anyways so even if the car was in decent shape i wasted my time coming down there. At that point i am more then frustrated and start acting accordingly and when he didnt like what i had to say he proceeded to tell me that i shouldnt act that way in front of MY CHILD. and continued to be extremely cocky and kept pointing to my child just to xxxx me off even more. I wouldnt recommend ever going to this dealership if you wanted to be treated with any sort of respect. TOTALLY DISGUSTED More
Had to return 3 times to get everything I needed. Promised a gas fill up and a target gift card and never got either. When I mentioned the "fill up" on my 3rd trip no one could help me and Lisa's sis Promised a gas fill up and a target gift card and never got either. When I mentioned the "fill up" on my 3rd trip no one could help me and Lisa's sister who sold me the car looked at me like she never saw me before. I was also told the XM radio would be available for about a month and it was gone in two days. The service dept. was very good and helped me when I returned for my second key and lock. I think that only took about 2 hours worth of waiting. The sales dept. needs to know that the deal does not end with the signature. As I said in a previous email, kudos to your service department. I think they might be the reason people come back. Lisa Freeman answered my previous email, please don't have her answer this one. She never read the complete email and thought I was interested in buying a car. Just thought you should know how one of your customers felt about the service you are always bragging about in your ads. Pat LaRose 773-513-9484 More
We drove 3 hours to look at a used SUV that we had called about and were assured that it would be ready to test drive when we got there. When we arrived, the staff was eating dinner and asked us to wait 5 mi about and were assured that it would be ready to test drive when we got there. When we arrived, the staff was eating dinner and asked us to wait 5 minutes and they would be with us. We walked around the lot and waited another 20 minutes. We finally had to ask someone to help us. After waiting another 10 minutes to find the keys to the SUV we wanted to look at, they informed us that they had just sold it. Then the sales tactics began. They tried to get us to test drive new ones that were way out of our price range. They told us they would call us when they had found a used one that matched our description, and we have yet to hear back from them. If you are looking for awful customer service and lack of professionalism, this is the place for you. I would avoid this place at all costs. More
This was first dealer we went to for a used SUV. Typical high-pressure sales tactics to close the deal when we specifically stated we just wanted a quote on a vehicle. We sat in a 2010 SUV and when asked ab high-pressure sales tactics to close the deal when we specifically stated we just wanted a quote on a vehicle. We sat in a 2010 SUV and when asked about a 2009 used version, were told we'd pay the same price for either vehicle. Whaaat??? We wanted to leave, but couldn't get a firm quote unless we took the car home same day. Eddie wanted us to talk to his manager. Told them to call us with a solid quote ASAP and as soon as they gave us one, we'd make a decision. Got several vague messages the following day and when we called back the price was now $4k higher than ballpark price from day before. They wouldn't do any better unless we came to the showroom. Sorry - no thanks - don't need to be coerced into coming back as other dealers gave us competitive prices over the phone. McGrath is the old-fashioned, hard-sell dealership your father warned you about. Don't go... many other reputable dealers out there who deserve your business. More
ok. The car, hyundai accent 2009 gls was priced at $12,000 (used) with 30k miles. At another used car lot, the same car with just 14,000 miles was priced at $8,495. McGrath did not provide me with a $12,000 (used) with 30k miles. At another used car lot, the same car with just 14,000 miles was priced at $8,495. McGrath did not provide me with a carfax or autocheck, but when I did look the car up, I found out it had been in an accident. I was told I was approved for financing and took the car home after trading in my other vehicle on a Monday. That weekend, I was told I had to come up with an additional $2,500 to keep the deal. I spend about 4 hours at McGrath on that Saturday while they worked on another deal. They showed me a different vehicle, a 2007 Elantra, which was filthy! Grease spots on the seats and empty fast food boxes inside. When I commented on the condition, the salesman said "What do you expect from a car that's a few years old?" Now - about the finance department. I felt like they thought I was xxxxxxxx or something. They told me to go to another building (McGrath Honda) and "stand by the door while the deal is hot." After signing all the papers and being told the deal had been closed, I was informed I must provide two more proofs of my residence, as I had recently moved. At this point, I just left, as I really didn't think that paying $10,000 for the filthy 2007 Elantra was such a good deal. The salesman also told my 13 daughter that he had underwear older than her. He seemed to have very poor boundaries, and commented several times on how good he looked for his age, which he told us was about 41 - we didn't ask. We came to look at cars, not validate the salesman's ego. Overpriced, poor service, and when we checked the auto check on many of the used vehicles at their lot, we found that most had been in accidents. The salesman put down the used lot (Millenium Auto), but actually, the used cars there were priced much lower, and had clean auto checks. Take your business somewhere else if you want to avoid my bad experience. More
This is for Mcgrath Honda City in Chicago. This salesman Dave Kazarian upsold me a certified warranty for $500 saying that it covered 100000 miles beyond what the car had on it. When I got the warranty car Dave Kazarian upsold me a certified warranty for $500 saying that it covered 100000 miles beyond what the car had on it. When I got the warranty card in the mail it actually only covered up to 100000 miles...big difference. I was quite upset and asked for a refund and he said there was nothing he could do. Very crooked...never trust this salesmand, I also caught him in a few white lies while we were there. Avoid! More
