Completely took advantage of us Tech found no evidence of our concern (in written report we picked up), (didn't let us know), but Service called and said it could be the blower or a Tech found no evidence of our concern (in written report we picked up), (didn't let us know), but Service called and said it could be the blower or a mouse nest and would cost us $$ to check it out. No trouble found but did replace the cabin filter, wasn't any different when we picked it up. Upon questioning why they didn't mention that it sounded normal right at first, but instead tore it apart, they kept insisting they did the right thing by digging into it further, even tho I said I should have had the option of whether to dig into it further after learning it sounded normal. Charged $240 but did refund $52 due to a mischarge. More
Drug out the deal for sometime I thought the deal would be faster but seemed to lose topic at times. Both the salesman (Brennan Howe) and sales manager (Jamie Butts) were very upfront and honest. Overall it was a great experience and really enjoy working with these two guys. Very happy with my purchase and will be back for my next truck. More
Much Better Experience than Previous Visits to McGrath Although I was planning to buy a new truck, I hadn't planned to to buy one from McGrath and just went over there to look at the new Ranger and compare Although I was planning to buy a new truck, I hadn't planned to to buy one from McGrath and just went over there to look at the new Ranger and compare to the F150. Todd Kibsgaard came out to ask if I needed any help. It was his first day and the business had just moved from Ford Town so Vehicle locations and stuff were a bit chaotic. He walked around with me and was willing to grab keys and look at different vehicles. I didn't want to bother them with that as I had no intention of buying a Ranger from them. I started to leave and went to drive around to see if I could find a certain F150 I saw on their website. He came back out and asked if I needed anything so I said I would like to look at a specific truck if they had it and showed him the listing. He went and found it and brought it around and I took it for a drive. I really liked it but since I was thinking of a Ranger, I wanted to compare and asked if he could go grab a Ranger which he did. We drove that and then wanted to drive the F150 again. Todd was very patient and no pressure. He apologized for not being familiar with all the vehicles as it was his first day, to which I responded I have already done my research and I just want someone helpful that isn't pushing me to buy a car. Todd was exactly that. He had a consumer mindset instead of a pushy sales person. I wound up buying the truck. His manager was also very decent and explained his positions while we were negotiating. I was not as pleased with the business person and the overall buying experience. The business office had us wait (which was fine because we didn't have an appointment) The business person spent 10 minutes having unrelated small talk with us - we thought she was waiting for some approval to come through. She then started her process first on the loan application (the price was only available if financed through Ford which is not unusual. She then started asking questions about use in preparation for a discussion about upselling features, warranties and services. I understand why this may be a good approach for some but I told her I wasn't interested in extended warranties or anything else. She said theat they were required to go through this by law and then proceeded to tell me about the specially designed McGrath packages to meet my needs. I told her a couple of more times that I wasn't interested but she didn't take the cue. I don't fault her for trying but it was late and I was starting to get annoyed. After telling he my position several times she asked what I was thinking and I told her I was thinking that it is time for me to leave and just not buy the vehicle. That did the trick. Interestingly, even though she cited laws requiring her disclosure, she did not provide the actual interest rate for the loan until asked. I am not a lawyer but I am pretty sure disclosing the set rate and effective rate is the one thing required by law for all lenders. That whole session eroded my trust. I only went through with it because I liked Todd and his manager was decent. McGrath has a great facility, a wonderful selection, super knowledgeable service center and it is conveniently located. I hope they get more people like Todd who was more like a helpful neighbor than someone trying to cram a car sale down my throat. The alternative is the reason people hate buying cars More
I called just before a coupon was to run out and they were good enough to make an appointment for me even though it was for late in the day.
