First off let me apologize for the way that Manny handled the situation. From what I understand you had mentioned to him that you were in the market for a new Rogue Select ant that you could purchase one at another local dealer for $8900.00. Although we all know that is impossible Manny should not have handled the situation like that, he should have simply said that we could not do that. I understand negotiations and I myself have used the low ball tactic to get a better price. I have to admit the number you used was very very low, but Manny should have handled it better. I can assure you that we don't handle ourselves in that way on a normal basis and Manny has been reprimanded. I would be more than happy to help you going forward, however if you have made a purchasing decision I wish you good luck with your new car. Scott McGrath McGrath NIssan

Hi Mr Mcgrath, I really appreciate you taking time to review and respond to my comments. First and foremost i would like to get the facts right, I never mentioned a rogue select for 8900.00 I know you can never buy a brand new rogue for 8900, I myself is a owner of Rouge SV AWD which i recently purchased from woodfield nissan. The number i mentioned to them was 18995, and I am 101% sure Manny and others mocked me for that numer, Not 8900...My brother who just recently bought a car and relocated to Texas really loved the rouge 2014 i got and wanted to get one for himself and that was the reason for our visit that day.. anyways, I just wanted to write a review because I thought It would not only help other customers but also owners of the company who care about their brand and image and obviously you do seems like you care. As far as the car purchase goes my brother did ended up buying a Hyndia sonata hybrid... But thanks again and appreciate you getting back. Ansar

Let me start by saying it was a very tough winter and yes in fact all Chicago land body shops where overwhelmed. The car was dropped off on Monday April 7th, we began working on the vehicle on Wednesday, April 9th. As with most automobile repairs additional work was required upon disassembling the damaged area. We contacted the clients insurance company and requested a supplemental claim. They approved that approximately 8 days later. The car was to be done on Monday, it was completed on Tuesday and the customer chose to pick it up on Wednesday. When he came in on Monday, Mr. Jovine walked right up to the scratch and announced that we had done that. Because it was not near the damage area we have no way of saying we didn't as we did not take pictures of that area. We buffed out the affected area. As to Mr. Jovine's allegations that we did not contact him, his voice mail is not set up on his phone and we were unable to leave a message (I tried it today 5/6/14 and it is still not set up). Mr. Jovine was also originally told that he would be responsible for the difference in labor rate between what we charge $48 per hour and Safeway's rate of $30 per hour, which would have amounted to approximately $1200. Michael convinced Safeway to pay our rate which left Mr. Jovine with no additional out of pocket expense. As to the "Sandford and Son" comment. Body shops visuals can be an eye opening experience for someone who has never seen one before, no offense taken. In closing I am sorry that Mr. Jovine was put out. I own McGrath Nissan and only McGrath Nissan. If you feel that we have not done our job well blame only Scott McGrath and McGrath Nissan. All other McGrath dealerships are independently owned. The day you came to pick up your car Michael was at a funeral and Keith was here. If you would like to sit down and discuss any of this or contact me directly, please give me a call. I would look forward to it. Scott McGrath, President McGrath Nissan.

I understand your frustration. I apologize that we could not hold the car for you longer. I have a very strict policy with my managers that a used vehicle has to be sent to auction if it has not sold in a specific period of time. They are held accountable for the actions or in-actions when it comes to the used car inventory. I am sorry that it fell into that time frame and we will help in any way we can in finding another vehicle for your daughter if she has not found one yet. Scott McGrath McGrath Nissan

McGrath Nissan responded

Although I am understand your frustration that the vehicle was not here when you came back in with your daughter, please understand I make it very clear to my managers that if a vehicle reaches a certain time in inventory that it must be sent to the auction for immediate sale. I understand that my manager, Jeff, made that clear before you left the first time and without a deposit he could not stop the car from leaving for the auction. As to my staff "scurrying" away, they are also instructed not to engage a hostile client. So if they encounter someone that is raising their voice and using foul language on the showroom floor, they are instructed to defuse the situation by not getting involved and letting that individual leave. I am sorry that your daughter didn't get the Honda, if she still needs assistance we will be more than happy to assist. Scott McGrath, McGrath Nissan

Danelle: After reading your review I can clearly see that the best thing for the both of us is to just move on. I can say without hesitation that we are just as frustrated as you are. We fixed the scratches on your car because there is no way to determine that we "didn't" create the scratch. So when that happens, rather than just sit there and argue with you about it, it's easier and less problematic if I just fix the problem. I wish you all the luck in the world with your Juke. I understand that you are planning on doing all you future maintenance and repairs at other Nissan dealers. If I can make any recommendations or introductions at other dealerships please let me know, your warranty is good at any Nissan dealership in the United States. Regards Scott McGrath

I did speak with Rony and although I am not happy with the way that he handled the situation, I do understand both sides. From what he explained to me you came in and drove a few cars then explained that you had some credit issues and that you wanted to spend around $10,000. Folks, I understand that the easiest way to get a good deal on a car is to look at something in the 14000-15000 range then tell the salesman that you want to spend 10,000....I do it all the time. When you came back the next day you asked to drive cars in the higher range and Rony said you need to fill out a credit app in order for us to do an analysis of your situation. You are right, he should have spent more time explaining than the amount of time that he spent grumping about it. If you would like to take another run at it I would be more than happy to put you with my sale manager Jeff and we can put together the best deal we can for you. I am here, Friday, til around 2 and will be here Saturday til around 12. I will let Jeff know about this so he can go to work on it. Scott McGrath

Thanks for the response. We purchased a Nissan Altima yesterday from another dealer. If Rony would have indulged us and perhaps spent his energy really talking with us to understand what we wanted instead of belittling us (because we were not really sure ....we hadnt purchase a car in almost ten years) he may have discovered we were serious about purchasing a car. We felt as though because we didnt 'Prove' our financial worth (which is what angered us most) we couldn't even TRY the cars out. We were trying to narrow down ... Do we want an SUV, Sedan, etc. When a person is disrespectful to me, there is no excuse especially when it is coming from a sales person representing a company and thousands of dollars are being spent. We felt as though Ronys first priority was to determine how much money he was to make, rather than helping us. We love Nissan products but were very disappointed with the service we received from your dealership. We will be stopping bye to show Rony our new purchase in hopes that he will never treat anyone else as he treated us. Cary and Joe Vodraska
