Mears Mazda is a complete nightmare to deal with. I bought a car there from a guy named Ruben three weeks ago I was promised a second key fob the front license plate bracket a small bracket for the back of my trunk so I could lay my seats down. It is now three weeks later my husband picked the license plate bracket up, and was finally told a phone number here in Amarillo that he could call to get the key fob. The bracket for my backseat was ordered today. Not a whole xxxx of a lot of confidence in these guys. They tell you one thing and if you don’t call him, they won’t do it. It’s the worst Customer Service ever we should’ve known better when it started off with that they tried to put the car under my husband’s name after he said it was to go under both our names. But I really wanted this car so my husband went ahead with the deal. We should’ve taken his first instinct and walked away. I hope this helps somebody else not to go through all this aggravation and that they walk away before they get screwed. More
🚨 Buyers Beware – CPO Shouldn’t Mean Constant Problems 🚨 I purchased a Certified Pre-Owned 2024 Mazda CX-90 from Mears Mazda in February 2025. Since that time, I’ve only had the vehicle in my possession 🚨 I purchased a Certified Pre-Owned 2024 Mazda CX-90 from Mears Mazda in February 2025. Since that time, I’ve only had the vehicle in my possession for about two weeks total and have driven it less than 700 miles. The rest of the time, it’s been in the shop. Within just three hours of delivery, the check engine light came on, and the vehicle stuttered to start. Just four days later, it completely broke down and had to be towed to a local Mazda dealer, where it was diagnosed with a fuel pump failure — on a CPO vehicle that’s supposed to be inspected and reliable. After that repair, I gave the car another chance. It’s now back in the shop for the second time, and has been sitting there for over two weeks with no diagnosis. I contacted the salesperson who sold me the car. He said he’d talk to the dealership managers or owner, but no help was ever offered. The salesman was pleasant but this dealership is not worth the headache. I’ve also reached out repeatedly to Mazda Corporate. My assigned case manager, Candy, has ignored all of my emails and calls. I also pulled the CARFAX, and it shows no inspection or service history before my purchase — making me question whether this vehicle was ever truly inspected under the Mazda Certified Pre-Owned program. 👉 I would never recommend this dealership or Mazda to anyone. The lack of accountability and follow-up is unacceptable — especially for a brand that claims to stand by its vehicles and customers. @MazdaUSA, I chose your brand for reliability and peace of mind. This place did an amazing job getting my mom into the porsche she was wanting. They handled the financing, vehicle description, and out of state deal with the utmost grace and professionalism. Character seems to in fact have a price… I recently purchased a BMW X5 M50i from this dealer, and my experience has been frustrating, to say the least. Shortly after taking the car home, I realized the purchased a BMW X5 M50i from this dealer, and my experience has been frustrating, to say the least. Shortly after taking the car home, I realized the sunroof didn’t work, which was already concerning. Then, within days, I discovered that the front brakes were completely worn out and needed immediate replacement. I decided to take the car to my local BMW dealer, where I paid to have both the brake pads and rotors replaced. When I contacted the dealer about the brake issue, they informed me that they could have replaced the brakes (for a fee) if I had returned the car to them ”…that the owner was simply unwilling to pay another dealer for the repair.” However, if they didn’t catch the brakes’ condition during their inspection before selling the car, why would I trust them to perform the replacement properly after the fact? Their apparent disregard for such a critical system certainly raises concerns about their attention to detail and overall commitment to customer safety…to say nothing of their lack of commitment to customer satisfaction. As for the sunroof, they offered to clean and inspect it but couldn’t guarantee that they would cover the cost of any necessary parts. This is yet another issue that should have been caught during their pre-sale inspection. Overall, I’m very disappointed with the lack of attention to detail and the poor service. For a dealership selling luxury vehicles, I expected a higher standard of quality control and customer care. I won’t be returning for future purchases or service and would advise others to exercise caution when buying from this dealer. More
We were very disappointed. This is the fifth Mazda we have owned and the 2nd we purchased from Mears Mazda Lubbock, TX. We bought a 2022 CX-30 in Dec of 2022 brand new. We purchased an extended warranty and took it in for the 2nd time yesterday for a humming sound coming from the vehicle when driving. They told us it was going be over $700 to fix it because we had "hit a curb or something". The care is rarely driven and only has 17,000 miles on it. They said it would not be covered by our warranty. This is the 2nd time they were troubleshooting this issue. This will be the LAST Mazda we purchase for sure. I highly discourage you from using this dealership as they cannot be trusted to honor their word. This was the 2nd very poor service experience we had here. More
Mazda is a great car. Financing department - they don't have one on site; but the interface is aweful. Service department very disorganized. So - a mess even if mechanics are good. Toyota aevice and transparency on financing is better. I like my mazda but unless I move to Korea, I'll never buy one again. More
