I used a coupon for a quick oil change since only drove 2,000 miles last year and didn't need a full service; my bill should have been $125 or so, according to the rep. I've used a similar coupon 2 years ago at MB without issue. The service rep tried to charge me over $200, mainly for extra oil, despite it was the same car with the same oil capacity as previous visits. My oil change with correct oil and tire rotation was $75 here locally. The added charge at MB was more than my oil change and tire rotation. In the future, I'll go back to Seattle MB , where I bought my last S-Class last year for my next MB and future service. Sorry for the lack of courtesy my wife experienced at MB. They have been servicing my vehicle for 6+ years. I have always had a great customer service experience with them. The work they do is great. However, recently that personal customer service has declined. I always had a great customer service experience with them. The work they do is great. However, recently that personal customer service has declined. In the past 6 months, I have not been satisfied with the level of customer support from the service department. I brought my vehicles in for 3 separate reasons and I didnt feel the warm friendly welcome that I am used to, except for 1. I am used to the service manager keeping me up to date on the status of my vehicle and on additional costs if the vehicle needs it. When I took my SUV in for service, I did not feel the welcome feeling nor get the communication I was used to. Then I took my sedan in for service and was happy with the support and communication. Unfortunately, I had to bring the sedan back for a separate repair. The support and communication I received was not even good. I never got called on updates and diagnostics on what was wrong with my vehicle. I had to call for a follow-up 4-5 hours after my appointment. Then I had to wait to the end of the day for a call on what my vehicle needed. All I was told was that the vehicle needed 2 items and they would have to be ordered. My car was still sitting taken apart and I had to make a decision within 10 minutes because they close at 6 and the technician is leaving within 15. And I wasnt even told the cost. I had to make a decision on yes to proceed with repairs or have the technician put it together. I had to ask for the total cost and breakdown. In the past, the service managers would give me clear breakdown of costs over the phone and via email to confirm. On top of that, I was not given the option of a loaner vehicle. When I was told to use my 2nd vehicle, I had to explain a relative is using it. The response was "Can I get it back?" I politely replied, "My aunt uses the vehicle to go back and forth for her Chemo treatments." The response was just "Oh". It was very unprofessional and I did not appreciate it. I will still go to the dealership for work on my vehicle because as I mentioned earlier, they do great work and I trust the work. Also, there are still people who exhibit the warm welcome feeling I'm used to when I step into the service area. They greet me with a smile, say hi, are courteous, and are attentive. I will just work with the 1 service manager from now on who gave me the support and communication I was used to. More
