It was difficult establishing an appointment by telephone. I was put on hold each time I called. After holding more than 5 minutes, the line went dead. Getting someone in the service department to return a call is like pulling teeth. It's easy to set an appointment for normal service but if there is a warranty related issue, prepare to be completely ign call is like pulling teeth. I left four messages over a two week period for the rep that looked at an issue with the MB-Tex delaminating in my new 2020 SLC300. Not one call was returned. I was finally given the reps cell number and got ahold of him only to be told I needed to talk to the service manager. I guess it was too much work for him to just have the service manager call me since it was too much of a bother for him to return my calls. I left four messages for the service manager and guess what...not one was returned. I finally decided to message him through the MBC website and, after a couple of days, he responded and asked me for pictures of the issue. Mind you, I had spent an hour at the dealership a month earlier filing the warranty claim, during which time the issue was photographed. They had obviously "round filed" my claim. Calling MB corporate was more disappointing than helpful and left me felling like my vehicle purchase was a big mistake. Turns out that their interiors are not covered under warranty but they would see if they could "offer some assistance" with the cost of the repair. Not what you want to hear when you have a 6 month old car with only 9000 miles and the seat material is self destructing. The best or nothing? Yeah right! Between the treatment I received at this dealership's service department and the lack luster quality in my vehicle (the MB Tex is not the only issue), I'm about ready to cut my losses and go back to Audi. More
