Sean, from service department, responded to me with his personal number, telling me that he can fix it for free if I give him a great "customer satisfaction" review. Without thinking much, I agreed. I realized that he is just eating his own word as he is hardly be able to be contacted, and he never actually fix my car as he refused my call. MB El Dorado has fixed it. I hope MB Sac will be clever enough to take care customer service in the future, because right now, they consider car owner below their age like a commoner. More
BRAND NEW CAR? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Getting cornered into buying a brand new 2018 S63 from the start after I expressed interest in the vehicle. Pulled my credit reports without first acknowledging "seller" who had possession of the vehicle. After running my credit, Brett informs me of vehicle having 1405 miles on the odometer. Keep in mind, this vehicle was sold to me brand new. Although higher than your average demo car, I accepted. Not long after, I was informed of the mark up on this vehicle, which is pretty high and non-negotiable. I also accepted without a fight. Vehicle was driven to me adding more mileage because they did not want to tow it down at their expense (this is a +200k vehicle after taxes and fees, a small price to pay but less money in their pocket). Upon arrival with a higher mileage and half a tank of gas, we signed without nagging or nitpicking these little details. We agreed on a clear bra work to be done in Sacramento, which meant the vehicle will be towed up for the work and down for pick up. It was at this time that I was notified by the tow truck driver (not Mercedes-Benz of Sacramento employees) that the vehicle was not completed and the bottom had to be repainted before a clear bra can be added per our agreement at signing. I called Brett and he said yes, it needs to be painted. So we set another date for pick up to bring it back to Sacramento for painting and delivering it back. That job took 2 weeks. That job should've been done the first time or even before they sold me the car. I am now paying for a car that I do not have on my hands. I am more annoyed that all this information was relayed to me via tow driver instead of whoever was taking care of my vehicle in Sacramento. I then inquire to Brett via text why it had taken so long. He mentioned that they wanted to make sure the job was done correctly. Now with that said, after I received my vehicle back at the end of the 2 week. THE JOB WAS NOT DONE CORRECTLY. The paint does not match original paint or the rest of the car. The panel in question is the front lower bumper. There is scuff marks from being polished too much on both side of the vehicle, scratches at various points, things that would makes you wonder, was this really repainted? Aside from the poor paint job, it wasn't even done correctly. The paint name is Obsidian metallic black, what they painted on there was the solid gloss black (paint code 040). If they had inspected it closely, rain or shine, they would be able to say "My god! The paint does not have the metallic flakes compared to the hood or fenders!". Instead, they stood probably an arms length away from the car, nodded their head and said "yeah, it looks black, it must be right". Sir, NO SIR, far from it. This is not the only infraction found. The center lower splitter, the part attached to the lower bumper, is CRACKED. I cannot tell you how this happened as they were clueless on the damage when I presented this to them. Prior to the tow truck driver picking it on this truck, he took photos that clearly showed poor repaint, but does not clearly show the cracked splitter. At this time, I addressed this to Brett, who was conveniently "busy with a customer" when I need to contact him. Apparently he is swamped with a customer all day as I did not receive a call back from 11AM that morning to the next day. I called everyone of worth on their Meet Our Staff page on the dealer's website. I left messages for each of them asking them to call me back. I get their voice mail, I get excuses from the operator, the cashiers, no manager is available at all. No return calls from people who I left messages with A MONTH PRIOR at signing. This is before their unfortunate accident of a show room fire, so I know they all had working office phones. I say this because they used the fire excuse as one of the reason of not calling me back. At this point, I directed my call to MBUSA who assisted on getting in contact with a manager. I had to call an outside source to get in touch with an on site manager. *DRUM ROLL* Enter Michael Marquez!! I finally get in touch with this man who is now taking care of this repaint damage fiasco. I requested that I have a shop in the San Jose and surrounding area do the repaint. That way, I can personally inspect the vehicle during repaint to make sure the work is done correctly. If it is not, at least I know and I don't have to wait for the vehicle to be delivered to me to find out. It was Michael that finally confirmed that I can do my repaint down here (and not waste time delivering the vehicle back and forth). This is not including the downtime. At signing, I never agreed to have this vehicle be out of my hands for repainting due to the vehicle being BRAND NEW. A brand new vehicle does not need to be repainted, but sometimes it does. If it does, they should have addressed it before making me sign for the vehicle. They should have compensated me for the downtime instead of me requesting for something, in which Michael agreed to pay for a partial lease after my request. They did not extend their arm out and offer assistance, I had to pull their arm out and spell it out for them that what they are doing is WRONG. I am a paying customer, I need to get what I am paying for, not LESS. Keep in mind, my vehicle at this point in time, requires a repaint and repair on the crack, a time that Michael has not confirmed he will pay for in terms of downtime for the second repaint job. I spoke to Michael about the downtime for the clear bra, but that was promised work to be done so it could not counted towards time loss on the vehicle. That I agree on, what I did not agree on was the time loss towards vehicle repaint, whether it was at their shop or my shop. We got their shop covered in down time, I am expecting the second repaint downtime to be covered as well but was not told that it will be. Ladies and Gents, this is a new vehicle registered to me as the first owner, a vehicle being used by the owner of the dealership for his own pleasure and business, a vehicle passed down to me as brand new after it was driven 1405 miles, a vehicle driven 1405 miles incurring scrapes and damages to the front bumper that required attention before being sold to me. How in the world is this acceptable? After pressuring me into giving the dealer and Brett a 5-star rating, I get nothing but a car that needs attention and a car payment every month. A car that gets paid, but is out of my hands for half the time. This vehicle is a month old in my hands. I can expect all I want, but I know it won't be coming from this dealership that sold me a $200k car. More
