On August 12, 2009 my husband and I purchased a 1999 Honda Accord from Midlands Honda. However, on August 18th, 2009, less than one week later, this car broke down. We had it towed to this dealership's Honda Accord from Midlands Honda. However, on August 18th, 2009, less than one week later, this car broke down. We had it towed to this dealership's service department and repaired (so we thought). We picked the vehicle up from the repair shop on August 22, 2009, although we were questioning the integrity of this dealership. Prior to even arriving at our home which is less than 10 miles away, the steering wheel and the brakes locked up while we were driving the vehicle home, and the brake light, and maintenance required lights came on. I realize that buying a used car always poses a risk, but I was under the obvious misconception (thanks to the following quotes from the Midlands Honda website) that they were a reputable dealership that would not sell a vehicle that poses such a safety threat. When I attempted to contact them I could not get a return call or a reply by email. Obviously we were wrong to trust the following information we found on their website: "Get a well-maintained, competitively-priced, used car in Columbia, SC at Midlands Honda. Our auto technicians perform a detailed inspection on every used car, truck, SUV and van at our Honda dealership. There's a reason why Midlands Honda is a premier new and used Honda dealer for Columbia, SC. It's because we provide quality automobiles at prices our customers can afford." More
Great customer service waiting area. Always treated very well. Large selection of new and pre owned vehicles. I am always comfortable there and always come away from service happy and satisfied. We have visited this dealership twice. The first time, we left feeling that they were not willing to negotiate whatsoever. Instead they tried to offer us their bottom end used cars. Today, we visited to buy a new car. We were told by their receptionist that there was only 10 minutes left and she didn't think that a sales rep would be able to help us. Believe it or not, we still waited. Two other sales reps "claiming to be helping someone else" told us that they were in the middle of finance and Sorry. This was the WORST customer service that I have ever had. I WILL NOT ever go there. I'll walk first. More
We went to Midlands Honda to look at and purchase a 2005 Ford Freestyle that we found on Ebay. We dealt with Nancy Dodge at the dealership. Overall, we had a good buying experience at Midlands. The only reason that we didn't rate customer service the highest rating is that we were passed around to a couple of different sales people when we had an appointment ahead of time. The sales people also had us wait for about 15-20 minutes before actually letting us see the vehicle that we were interested in. Once we were finally able to get to see the vehicle the transaction went well. We paid cash for the vehicle and was suprised that it still took a couple of hours to get in and out, but there's just a ton of paperwork involved. Our sales agent,maureen brazel, showed us the vehicles that met the requirements that we had given to her. we were concerned about safety on the highway, gas mileage, and affordability. Ms Brazel explained all the features of both hondas that we drove in a very understandable manner. my wife and i made a decision and started the paper work but being that it was 9:30 pm we decided to come back on saturday morning and finish that part of the sale..during the night and early morning we discussed all options and decided to step up a level on the accord! Ms Brazel was happy for us that we had stepped up a level and was not perplexed at having to change the paperwork. we met with Mike Brabham and arranged the financing and warranties. it was decided that we would meet with our bank and return on tuesday to bring our final check and have the interior and exterior treated. On tuesday we returned to midlands honda were met by Maureen and again met with mike brabham. and waited for our honda accord to receive the body and upholstery treatments. Maureen introduced us to the service manager, Regina Salinas, and one of the service advisor danny stegall. all were very friendly and patient as we asked questions and made a tenative appointment for the first service. this has been a very good experience for us and we have found every one to be friendly, patient, knowledgeable and helpful. being a pharmacist i have dealt with many different types of people and salespersons also; i watched the other sales persons with their clients and was very impressed. i do feel that we had the best sales agent there!!!!!!!! i have had my honda just over 1 week and am approaching 800 miles so you can see th at my wife and i have been enjoying driving it. we anticipate excellent service from this vehicle and excellent gas mileage. this weekend we will be taking a longer trip to tennessee and will test our new car and its comfort thanks to all the crew at midlands esp Maureen Jim & Caroly Lamb the lambs of Yeshua 1959 blue ridge terrace west columbia sc 29170 More

Kacey Green,in our opinion, knows more about Hybrid vehicles than all of the folks that we had already spoken with at 3 other dealerships in SC. We would have rather dealt with the dealerships that were 15 miles from our home but we were so impressed by Kacey's knowledge and helpfulness that we purchased an Insight Ex on the spot. He was very helpful in working with us to get the color and model that we wanted. John H. in finance also was very helpful. We were so impressed with the dealership that we will probably travel back to Columbia for service. During the test drive Kacey showed us how to drive the Insight so that we will get maximum gas mileage. We got 46.2 average miles per gallon on the trip home and that was our first attempt at Green driving. We were on interstate and driving 70 miles and hour most of the way with lots of hills. The Insight Ex is a fun car with lots of get up and go. Thanks to Kacey we are not intimidated by all the gadgets even though we are senior citizens. Joyce and Otto More
I was shuffled from my Sales Representative (Angela Elkins) to the Finance Associate (Paul Ahn –sp). I visited the store the day prior and informed the receptionist. The receptionist informed me that a Sales Representative would meet me shortly and later apologized that none were presently available. I mentioned to the receptionist that I would wait and browse the cars outside. An hour/ later I left and returned the next day. Overall, it was a check the block, lack of initiative, and my Sales Representative could have answered my questions or provided details without the proverbial excuse “that’s not my lane…the Finance Department will explain warranties, etc.” Angela seemed distracted…although the handover to Paul seemed to have worked out (by design probably). It could have been a better experience, unless the dealership is getting complacent. I had my credit union lined-up and the sales process was impersonal/unprofessional initially – but Paul managed to make a good comeback. In the past 35 years, I have purchased more than a dozen new and used cars. But, this was the very first time that I suffered absolutely NO pangs of "buyer's remorse." Midlands Honda and in particular, La new and used cars. But, this was the very first time that I suffered absolutely NO pangs of "buyer's remorse." Midlands Honda and in particular, Laura Glass, James Pratt, and Bob Carter made this the most surprisingly fun and enjoyable car-buying experience ever! I began my quest for a new Civic from afar and was extremely delighted with the beautiful car that Laura chose for me and my family. Amazingly, all in my family LOVE this car and that has never happened before. Its gorgeous! Laura, James, and Bob were extremely friendly, courteous, professional, and doggedly committed to making this purchase happen, even through several unintentional obstacles that I threw in their path. James and Bob stayed long past closing to culminate this deal. Laura even came in on her day off to finalize the paperwork! I am so thankful for all the help that was extended to me by this team and Midlands Honda. I will definately share this terrific experience with all my friends and acqaintences. More

When I got to Midlands Honda, I was impressed with their huge selection of vehicles and it didn't take long to find "the one!" The staff was great about explaining the process to me, and also making sure that I was completely happy and satisfied with my purchase. I would definitely recommend this dealership and its staff to anyone looking for a great car buying experience! I will definitely shop here in the future! And I LOVE my new Accord!! More
