I visited Longmont Ford with my daughter. This was her first experience purchasing an automobile, although she has been thoroughly shopping for and test driving vehicles. Overall we were quite pleased wit first experience purchasing an automobile, although she has been thoroughly shopping for and test driving vehicles. Overall we were quite pleased with the experience, although there were a few glitches. Positive Experiences: 1. My daughter's research led her to a Hyundai Accent. Longmont Ford was advertising several in the condition and price range we were looking for. Checking on several car pricing web sites showed that the advertised price was fair and even aggressive. We told the salesperson that we were interested in a particular advertised vehicle. He showed us that vehicle and, when we asked, the other Accents on the lot. We were very pleasantly surprised when he didn't try to steer us toward any other model. 2. Price discussions proceeded efficiently, without the usual games, pressure, stalling and endless counter-counter-offers I've had to endure in the past. He never tried to increase the advertised price. I told the salesperson what I needed from my trade in, he disappeared for a reasonable length of time, and came back with an agreement. The price we agreed to was almost the same as what eventually showed up on the purchase agreement (more about that below). Not-so-positive Experiences: 1. The dealer fee was $600. Perhaps it's customary now, but that's more than I expected and twice what I remember ever paying on any previous vehicle purchase. 2. When we reviewed the purchase agreement there was an unexpected $25 charge for an emissions inspection coupon. When I went to the inspection station, they told me an inspection was not required for that vehicle. The $25 charge was completely unnecessary. To their credit, Longmont Ford refunded the $25 promptly when I returned the coupon. But the hassle was a couple of hours of my life that shouldn't have been wasted like that. More

I originally planned to look at a used Prius, but Brent recommended the Ford C-Max and I drove it and really liked it. It's perfect for me and the price was great. Brent was wonderful to work with.
