10:30 appointment to rotate/balance 4 tires. 11:15 and my car is on the lift, tires removed, no progress from there. Cost quoted at $88.00 for the complete service. Rotate/Balance is a 45 minute 11:15 and my car is on the lift, tires removed, no progress from there. Cost quoted at $88.00 for the complete service. Rotate/Balance is a 45 minute job at best. Add 15 minutes for surprises, & the dealer is still not even close to finished. This dealer service level & price point is abysmal. This is not a dealership I would ever recommend. More
I’m seriously concerned about my recent service experience at Modern Nissan of Winston-Salem. Our 2020 Nissan Rogue broke down and was towed in on 6/17/25. Frank Calderon quoted $712.95 to replace experience at Modern Nissan of Winston-Salem. Our 2020 Nissan Rogue broke down and was towed in on 6/17/25. Frank Calderon quoted $712.95 to replace a mass airflow sensor, with an inflated part price of $377—significantly higher than Nissan’s official MSRP of $326 (which was on sale for $225). When I questioned this, Frank adjusted the total quote to $637.80, but still tried charging a diagnostic fee he initially said would be waived. Only after I requested did he remove this fee, bringing the final total down to $557.53—saving $155 just by questioning the charges. This isn’t a discount; it’s proof of intentional overcharging. Had I not been vigilant, Modern Nissan would have happily taken advantage of me. Frank even mentioned this issue was common, yet the repair took nearly a full week. This predatory experience ensures I will not return, and I caution others to approach dealings here carefully. UPDATE: Shortly after posting this review, the service manager called to “hear my side,” offering explanations about unclear policies and claiming extra unpaid labor—none of which addressed my concerns or made practical sense to me. He asked how to make it right but offered no solutions, shifting responsibility back to me. Hours later that Thursday afternoon, our check engine light came back on. We returned, providing them a chance to redeem themselves. Instead, they delayed service again not even looking at the car until after 130 Friday, offered no loaner, and poorly communicated timing- told them I’d be nearby at 5, they said it’d be ready Saturday, but at 530 call and say it’s ready. The newly installed sensor was faulty and replaced under warranty—as it should be, not as a favor like they tried to make it sound. This experience reinforced my disappointment and frustration. More
I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Modern Nissan of Winston-Salem’s service department. My truck was in their care for one week and one day, supposedly waiting on parts. I was assured Modern Nissan of Winston-Salem’s service department. My truck was in their care for one week and one day, supposedly waiting on parts. I was assured multiple times that my vehicle was “next in line” for repairs. However, on the day I picked it up, I was shocked to learn that not a single thing had been done to it. To make matters worse, I was able to take my truck to a highly reputable repair shop that completed the work in just one day—at half the price Modern Nissan quoted me. This proves that the delay and high cost were not justifiable. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I’ve had a negative experience with the Modern Automotive network. Given their lack of transparency, poor communication, and failure to follow through on their commitments, I cannot recommend Modern Nissan of Winston-Salem to anyone. If you're looking for reliable service and fair pricing, I strongly suggest finding another dealership or repair shop that values its customers More
I have a 2022 Nissan Rogue and my husband was driving it when the drive shaft broke. Had it towed in. Still under warranty but Frank Calderon said that due to the fact that the tire tread had a variance it when the drive shaft broke. Had it towed in. Still under warranty but Frank Calderon said that due to the fact that the tire tread had a variance it would not be covered and that besides the drive shaft and transfer case the rear coupler may also have sustained damage. We have driven AWD/4WD cars for 30 years. Never had a drive shaft to break. Why pay for a warranty if Nissan won't stand by it. I'm a woman but I'm not that stupid. Who in their right mind would spend $5600 to repair this on a 2 year old car. I even contacted George Sniadoski at their corporate and he was no help. Playing phone tag and constantly talking about a data breach and then phone problems there. That's not my problem , but not having a car because Nissan refuses to honor a warranty is the blatant dishonesty and terrible customer service. Last Nissan I will ever have. More
I made an appointment to bring my 2020 Pathfinder in for service. Got there a few minutes early and waited for 15 minutes before anyone even came up to me. My power window needed a new motor. I had the Plai service. Got there a few minutes early and waited for 15 minutes before anyone even came up to me. My power window needed a new motor. I had the Plaintnum extended warranty. I was told that there would be a $150 fee to find the problem. I ask about my warranty and the adviser said he did not know if that was covered. I ask what does it cover and he could not answer that. I had to leave it there to be checked. I was called back after I contacted my sales person to help me with this problem who was Great, Michael Cockeren! It was covered with a $100 deductable. Was told I would have to leave it overnight. Thant's my only vehicle. I also had a state inspection done and they called me and said I needed rear brakes. Funny thing is I just had oil change and tire rotation done a week earlier at Shattalon Tire and they did not mention brakes. I had same service done on my wifes car and they said she did need brakes. Also the same week I got it home I noticed moisture in my front headlight. Which they had replaced 14 months earlier. It was covered under warrenty at that time, which took them about 5 hours to replace while I was waiting there for it. They noticed my brakes but did not see a very noticable moisture problem. Back to this service, I was told it would be ready by lunch the next day and I called around 1 to check on it and they said tech was working on it and should be ready in about an hour. They called back at 4 and said my vehicle was ready and my cost was $1090 dollars. After telling them about my warranty they did get the right price for the brake work. When I called about the moisture in my headlight, I was told my service advisor was with a customer and would call me back in a few minutes. Never did get a call back, I took it in the next day to show them the headlight and to make a long story short, was informed it was not covered and would cost me $1,090 to have it fixed. I thank I;m going back to Shattalon Tire were I have taken my vehicle and my wife's vehicle, both are Nissans since I have had nothing but BAD SERVICE EVERY TIME I'VE BEEN TO MODEREN NISSANS'S SERVOCE DEPARTMENT! As of right now I’d never buy a Nissan from Modern until they honor their warranties. As if Certified Preowned Warranty means nothing they’ll fight tooth and nail to avoid covering my vehicle. I would have they honor their warranties. As if Certified Preowned Warranty means nothing they’ll fight tooth and nail to avoid covering my vehicle. I would have been better buying from an individual and taking my chances on vehicle longevity, this warranty is no different. A Service Bulletin covers my Titans engine and getting help is extremely difficult. Anyone can sell you a vehicle but can they retain that customer for future purchases? Not right now with this customers…buyer beware! More
I Don't know much about the sales department, and its too soon to say so about service, but the warehouse Parts department has Poor Communication and attentiveness to the customer and their needs. soon to say so about service, but the warehouse Parts department has Poor Communication and attentiveness to the customer and their needs. They stole my time and money; I left my car for service to fix two particular problems. After an inspection, they called me and ask permission to replace some parts. What do you expect, after repla service to fix two particular problems. After an inspection, they called me and ask permission to replace some parts. What do you expect, after replacements, your problems would be fixed. Today my car has the same problems as before i had my car serviced. And their manager said to me " leave your car here after an inspection we will call you". When I asked, if you want to replace some parts and get paid, do you guarantee you will solve the problem. He said yes it is possible to change some part again and NOT SOLVE your problem. In my opinion, they just want to sell you a auto parts, don't care about your car. More
