Dealer Negligence, Unresolved Warranty Issues, and False Advertising. I purchased a brand new 2026 Toyota Camry from Modern Toyota in Winston-Salem in October 2025, and the experience has been completely Advertising. I purchased a brand new 2026 Toyota Camry from Modern Toyota in Winston-Salem in October 2025, and the experience has been completely unacceptable. I am dealing with severe issues regarding both false advertising and blatant service negligence. Issue 1: False Advertising on MPG* The 2026 Camry is heavily advertised as getting 48-52 MPG. Since day one, I have strictly driven in ECO mode and used Premium fuel, yet I am only getting around 38 MPG. I am losing roughly 110 miles per tank compared to what was sold to me. I contacted Toyota Corporate over 3 months ago to report this issue, and they have completely ignored me. No solution, no follow-up. Issue 2: Dealer Negligence & Manufacturing Defect (Tires) My car currently has only 15,000 miles. The tires are already completely bald, on the inside edges, and the car makes a terrible road noise. Modern Toyota performed the tire rotations on my first two service at 5 thousand milles recommended by them, and they NEVER mentioned a need for an alignment or abnormal tire wear on their Multi-Point Inspections. Now, on the 3rd visit, they suddenly claim I need to buy new tires out of pocket. This is either a factory alignment/manufacturing defect (which my sister also experienced with her car, and her dealership rightfully replaced her tires under warranty), or it is sheer negligence by Modern Toyota's technicians for failing to identify and warn me about the alignment issue during the previous services. I am not paying out of pocket for a factory defect or a dealership's failure to do their job. I expect Modern Toyota and Toyota Corporate to step up, replace all 4 tires under warranty, perform a proper alignment, and properly diagnose the fuel consumption issue immediately. If this is not resolved, I will be escalating this matter to the NC Attorney General for consumer fraud and filing a formal complaint with the BBB Auto Line. More
