Molle Toyota responded

Thank you for informing us of your recent experience. We apologize for any misunderstanding or miscommunication with your paperwork. You contacted us in late January requesting a change in your contract reflecting a purchase date of 12/31/09, even though the contract had been signed and dated January 2, 2010. Due to federal and state laws, we are unable to change those contractual dates. With regard to the trade value of your 2002 RAV4, offers do vary amongst dealers and often differ when comparing Kelley Blue Book, Edmunds.com and other sources of information. Molle Toyota- Scion recognizes the importance of delivering exceptional customer service and remains committed to provide the best possible experiences and support to our customers. We apologize that you feel you received less than satisfactory service. Please be assured that we will use your feedback to help improve our process moving forward. Paul Riggin, Truck Center Manager.

Toyota customer responded

Paul, I had a verbal agreement with my salesman, Matt Wantland, which is legally a binding contract. I did not know the promise had not been kept until I examined the paperwork, which I was told I didn't have to pick up until I had the paint protectant and the body mouldings installed in late January, a suggestion from Matt that I followed. When I visited the dealership on the day I spoke with you, I asked to be able to speak with him twice, which you did not follow through on either time. You yourself stated that had he made the promised notation, a different date on the paperwork would have been fine, so it really isn't about the federal and state laws, it's about your dealership not getting caught. If it were about the laws, back or forward dating would never occur. You also said that your dealership should do the right thing by me, whom you referred to as a valued customer, which I thank you for, but so far I have been denied any remedy to the situation and am suffering financial losses because of this, which I did not expect in the purchase of a new car. Considering all the issues Toyota is currently having, it seems to me that your dealership would want to have those of us with Toyotas remain happy and committed to the brand and your dealership. I call into question your statement that "Molle Toyota- Scion recognizes the importance of delivering exceptional customer service and remains committed to provide the best possible experiences and support to our customers. " I will keep exploring other avenues to obtain that satisfaction. Sincerely, Jane Carl
