I was extremely happy with how quick they made the process! I bought a newly used Jeep from them after trading in my vehicle. I was a little disappointed that it wasn't "spiffed up" before I came to pick it up after the weekend, nor was I offered any complimentary service offers which is really helpful not only to customers but helps bring people back to them in the future. Every other dealership I've been to will detail the vehicle inside and out and fill it with gas before you pick up, and in addition offer at least a free oil change to keep you coming back for routine maintenance. While I do realize I bought a Jeep from a Honda dealer and they may be limited to the services they offer to used vehicles, I still feel that the customer experience is the most important. In addition knowledge of the vehicles you are selling is imperative! Luckily, I had done my own research prior to my inquiry of the new vehicle but the sales team/management could not answer basic questions I had regarding features of the particular vehicle. Again I realize Jeeps aren't their specialty but knowledge of any product you're selling will take you a long way! Over all it was a great experience, very fast, great trade in value and got the vehicle I came for, for a great price! More

Terra was my contact, and she did exactly what she said that she would do. She called, emailed and text as promised and at a specific time. After 3 negotiations, I was comfortable with the out-the-door price. Benny then handled the paperwork and delivered the vehicle to my front door. It was the most pleasant buying experience that I have had. I literally sat in my great room, wearing my fattest pants, sipping wine and bought a vehicle. I would highly recommend Morganton Honda. Unethical! I was working a deal on a new CR-V over the phone. They sent an offer sheet which I accepted and sent a copy my drivers license to confirm. The salesman acknowledge my offer. During this negotiation the salesman said someone was actually test driving it, that was at 1:09. At 1:25 the salesman said he was waiting to see what these people wanted to do. At 1:39 he said I think these people are going to buy it. I complained that it was already sold to me. and he said I have others CR-Vs coming in next month. I complained to the sales manager and was told they were in the system at 1:02 .I said that is not true as they were out test driving at 1:09 which I have a proof of on my texts. The sales manager (Rodney) threaten me by saying, come down and tell me to my face I'm a liar. Then hung up! Classy! More

I needed a reliable used truck. Honda of Morganton had a trade in Ridgeline listed. Since it came from a Honda owner, turned in at a Honda dealership for purchase of another Honda I felt that was a fairly s trade in Ridgeline listed. Since it came from a Honda owner, turned in at a Honda dealership for purchase of another Honda I felt that was a fairly safe bet for purchase. The salesman was pleasant and patient. I did hope for more records info, but outside of the Carfax they said they had nothing else to share. I surmise that dealerships perhaps do not take in or pass along any paperwork records from previous owners? It was our best option price/mileage/car-history-wise out of everything I'd looked at so far, so we purchased and drove the truck home back to Asheville area. The next day my husband drove the truck on some errands around town and noticed a metal on metal scraping and rattling sound at slower speeds and going over bumps. We took it to Apple Tree Honda as they are the closest "official" Honda place to us - they said it was a good thing we brought it in because it could have become a dangerous situation. They found that the front rotors did not match one another, that one of them was installed backwards, and the brake line had got caught up somehow and gotten a kink in it, as well as the calipers missing a slide pin bolt. Admittedly I was flabbergasted that whatever Morganton Honda's "safety" and approval inspections are, to determine putting something on the lot for sale, did not appear to include a more thorough examination to the whole braking system! Apple Tree did the work because it did not otherwise seem safe to get it back down to Morganton, plus at that point I was feeling a bit skeptical of the Morganton service center's thoroughness and skill. I called Morganton that day to lodge a complaint. Next day a woman in charge of their business reputation/PR etc... got in touch with me and said she would try her best to make sure I was satisfied, but that it may be difficult due to it being a used "as is" vehicle, and them not having been the ones to do the work since I took it to Apple Tree. A couple days of back and forth phone calls ensued as she was investigating the details of what all had happened. Morganton assured that they were not the ones to have installed the rotor incorrectly. But they admitted that their level of inspection for general used vehicles is not as thorough as for their "certified pre-owned" line - consequently they only inspected how much brake pad was left and that the brakes worked, and that was as far as it went. They did not disassemble anything to get a good look at the rotors, so they did not know it was an issue. I wager there are people at Morganton Honda who possibly did not want to offer any recompense at all, so whether its a testament to this woman's role, or a testament to the business on principle not wanting to look bad on ANY sale they just made, used or not - I was finally able to come to some agreement on assistance. Something was better than nothing, given that I had the issue occur right after getting the car home - and one would think that buying from a large dealership would come with more thorough inspection. I encouraged for future reference it would be good practice to thoroughly inspect the whole braking system, rotors and all, especially on used vehicles, for the safety of their customers. Why risk potential accident/injury/death over something which could have been relatively quickly taken care of ahead of time had they just looked closer? All in all I don't discourage purchase from Morganton Honda, but if buying used (from anywhere really), be sure to get VERY thorough detail of everything that was inspected, and to what extent it was inspected. Because clearly one can't assume that just because its a big, well known dealership, that they wouldn't possibly let something leave the lot that otherwise would have and should have been fixed on site before sale. Lesson learned. More
