47 years, 20-23 dealerships later, Mossy Toyota has by far been the worst experience ever! Purchased 2008 Sienna Dec. 28th advertised as a "Certified Toyota" vehicle but it had mismatched tires, dent in far been the worst experience ever! Purchased 2008 Sienna Dec. 28th advertised as a "Certified Toyota" vehicle but it had mismatched tires, dent in door, damaged windshield, filthy corroded headsets, cracked remote entertainment control, hood and bumper full of chips covered up by touch up paint rush, damaged leather seat, faded chipped paint on window trims, squeaky after market brakes in rear, driver and passenger rear window gaskets flapping in the wind, drywall screw holding up driver side of rear bumper, filthy contaminated cabin filter (a/c), back cover of driver seat fell off after being installed incorrectly, intermittent navigation system (bad dvd) etc. Granted they have fixed most of these issues (had to get Jason Mossy involved) BUT it was painful, so very painful. Plus they had our $26,000.00 and our car, sure a couple of the times we had a little loaner but we even had to fight for that. We had the unfortunate experience of initially dealing with a Jason Jaffe, their Used Car Sales Manager or DIRECTOR as he informed us. There is not enough room here nor will I waste time and emotions going into the details of dealing with this arrogant, self serving person. Just let me say that he is someone you would not want to having any dealings with, let alone buy a car from. Oh, I forgot to mention we did get a set of rubber mats free. Then more issue were discovered and despite knowing that we have already been through the ringer with their version of a Toyota Certified Vehicle, they continued insulting our integrity and honesty by implying we cause the damaged dvd and refusing to replace it. I was absolutely furious, in no uncertain terms told them so, after all enough is enough! They relented and said they would send us the 2007 replacement dvd. They couldn't even offer us a current version, their cost would be the same regardless. To quote Jason Mossy "The last thing we want, is for you to be unhappy with us every time you get into your vehicle. Buying a car is supposed to be a fun experience". Well I am sorry to tell him that it surely has not been that with Mossy Toyota. We cringe at the mere thought of having to return to them should anything else be found wrong, because they sold us a used vehicle as a Certified Used vehicle (you pay more) without doing the work required to meet the certification. More
Worst car buying experience I have had in 30 years. Went through fleet program to avoid the high pressure sales process, but got it anyway. I ended up going to Carlsbad Toyota and buying a new Prius the next day. Had a very good experience with Carlsbad Toyota. Take a short drive north, you will be glad you did. Better prices and no BS. First and foremost, have your vehicle inspected by another mechanic after having it serviced at this location. I brought my vehicle, to this location, for a diagnostic regarding an ongoing problem. another mechanic after having it serviced at this location. Several months later, I discovered the defect. Since the part is still under warranty, I returned my car to be inspected. I explained the situation to the mechanics and Dale Snow. Dale Snow, director of the service department, negated to honor the warranty of the part, refused to replace it, and, to add insult to injury, blamed me for the broken part. Now, I have to get an attorney or go to small claims court to resolve this dispute. Who do you think will win if they say a new part was installed? Beware! You might get ripped off too. More

Arrogant service department. I bought a Prius there and have been bringing it to them for a few years. I recently brought my Lexus for service and had to spend 15 minutes REGIVING them my personal informa have been bringing it to them for a few years. I recently brought my Lexus for service and had to spend 15 minutes REGIVING them my personal information...name, address, phone number....and of course, they screwed it up...so, thier system has no foggy idea that I am already a customer...When confronting the service manager, he was not concerned about th e15 minutes I wasted regiving the same information..or that it was taken in error....he was more concerned that I was upset...and may be a bit loud. Stay away from Mossy...they are arrogant and their are WAY far behind in database technology...they are a JOKE. Will be taking my car to Toyota Carlsbad henceforth. More
When my wife and I decided to buy a new suv we decided to go to Mossy Toyota. I had bought my Toyota Tacoma there a few years earlier, and I was very satisfied with the experience then. My experience in purchasing the a 2010 Rav4 was even better. Alex, in Sales, was very friendly. He answered all our questions, and didn't push anything we didn't want. When it came down to negotiating the price he worked with us and was able to get us an awesome deal. I would absolutely recommend anyone in the market for a Toyota to go seek out Alex. You wont be disappointed. More
My husband and I emailed the dealership asking about the currently advertised special with the 2010 Prius. We explained we had a leased 2008 Camry that we got from them. They seemed to have treated us right, though they did “inform” us that the last dealer had ripped us off….not sure I believe that, but that seems to be their underhanded way. It’s like going to a new hairdresser that trashes your old hairdresser…you have the business, don’t be an xxx. Dealers seem to have misunderstood the objective, despite our communication otherwise. I’ll premise this with the fact that every Toyota dealer in town had advertised a level 2 Prius at $249 per month, no down, no first payment and 24 months of service at no charge. So we went back to Mossy Toyota, We emailed our situation and bottom line days before. We prequalified online with flying colors. We spoke to the salesperson several times (John, who was very nice, but clearly not listening to what we wanted). Our objective was clear. We arrived at the dealership, they took another hour to again prequalify us. We drove the Prius. After 90 minutes they offered us a completely lame deal, claiming we owed too many payments on the Camry (lease was up in 2/11). We countered and ultimately walked after the “bad cop” came over to let us know we “beat up” our salesperson and that they simply could not do the deal. He did offer us a deal close to what we wanted, but let us know Toyota (not his dealership) would come after us for anything they felt was wrong with the Camry after the fact. Seriously? You had the facts days ago….do the deal, don’t do it. Don’t waste my time. These people wasted our time and were ultimately rude in the process. I would have been fine if we walked in and they said, sorry we can't do the deal. Bob Baker Toyota took the Camry back, paid the last 6 payments (actually Toyota does that as part of the deal so you are also liars at Mossy), $600 down, no first payment, no Toyota coming after us after the fact, brand new Prius, 2 years service, detailed and a lower payment than we thought was possible. Mossy, you wasted our time and tried to rip us off. I tell everyone how bad you treated us. More
