Many errors of omission! I had previously purchased a 2017 Sorento through Mr McKeown and was well satisfied with the experience. Over the past week, I purchased a 2018 Sporta I had previously purchased a 2017 Sorento through Mr McKeown and was well satisfied with the experience. Over the past week, I purchased a 2018 Sportage and can only describe the experience as a nightmare. To begin with I test drove the Sportage sat down with Mr McKeown to negotiate the deal. Mr McKeown began the process by quoting the price of fully loaded Sorento (approximately $45,000 versus the approximate $35,000) I couldn't believe the disparity and left the dealership .Subsequently Mr McKeown emailed an offer indicating a list price of $39,000 which was unacceptable and we finally settled on an acceptable price which approximated the correct list price. The dealership didn't have the AWD model and gave me a loaner to drive while they located one. Fast forward, they had the correct vehicle and I was told that the registration, finance documentation and insurance card were in the vehicle. I asked Mr. McKeown about the the 90 day free trail for XM and he told me that it was taken care of, it wasn't and I called XM and took care of the. I then realized my error in trusting the word of Mr McKeown and Mr Raffensberger, there was no registration card nor Insurance card in the car. I called Mr Raffensberger who told me the Mr McKeown had been unable to contact the insurance company, which was nonsense given that I was able to contact the company and received an insurance card in less than five minutes. Mr McKeown finally called me back this afternoon and promised to mail me the missing documentation. When I asked him how I was supposed to drive a car with no registration he responded "that i should be OK". No apology, no effort to ameliorate the situation. no nothing. Let me just say that my husband was after me to trade-in my car - that I loved (not a Kia) - so this was not an easy sale for Joe or the dealership by any means. We test drove one vehicle that I wasn't crazy about... Joe asked me what I didn't like about it and what features were important to me. He suggested that I might like the new Kia Soul Turbo Exclaim. I really liked that one, so we began negotiations. After a bit of back and forth, I got a price and payment terms that I could live with. Joe told me in the beginning that he would work hard to get me the deal that I wanted/needed and in the end, he did. The only disappointing part was that when I went to sign the closing/Finance papers. I realized that I had just purchased a new 2017 Kia... when i thought that I had been test driving 2018s. In the end, I really liked the car and was happy with the deal that I got so I couldn't walk away. This is my first Kia purchase. Joe was super nice to work with and took the time to show me all the features of the car to make sure I was completely happy with it before we left the lot. I must say that I was pretty impressed with their finance person too. He seemed much more knowledgeable than some others I've dealt with in the past. More
