Caveat Emptor First off, was very happy with Angelo, our salesman. Very knowledgeable and helpful, no pressure. Just wish the rest of the experience was with Angelo. Went in looking to get a used Grand Cherokee for our daughter and use the equity in her lease (Jeep Wrangler) as a down payment, about $2400. She couldn’t find a used one that she liked, but I managed to find a new one for me. Ended up giving her my 2019 Grand Cherokee and worked out a lease on a 2023 for me. Was late and we left thinking we had a deal and would return in 2 days when Angelo was there to finish the deal. On my return, started working with the back office staff and that’s where the 1 star review starts. Going to leave out names to protect the guilty, LOL, anyway they were totally confused with Chrysler Capitals lease buyout procedures and then when I asked for Mopar warranty versus their in house warranty, not living in the Naples area I wanted a national warranty. Guess I was expecting too much from a Jeep dealer to know how to handle the buy out of Jeep lease and how to price and sell a Mopar (Jeep) warranty. Due to the crazy times in the car market couldn’t work out a lease but somehow, purchasing a car worked out to be about the same per month as a lease, no brainer lets buy the car. Started working with the finance guy. Confused on the lease buy and Mopar warranty. Went back and forth. They use a cool looking desktop electronic signing thing, which seems to work and not. After some technical issues, got it working. Grew to dislike the signing process as you could not see a whole page at one time. Lots of flipping back and forth, very confusing. They also have automatic, irreversible built in profit product, “Naples Advantage”, $2477 of wasted money but again these are crazy times to buy a car. Tried everything not to get “Naples Advantage” hopefully you’ll have better luck. Finally, finalized the deal, only later to realize that they did a lease return versus a buyout. Doing it as a lease return, means I left $2400 of equity on the table and would be liable for mileage and wear and tear on the 2018 lease. Again, I don’t live in Naples so lots of calls and emails back and forth they sent me a check for $2350, notated “Customer Good Will” (that’s just funny). Weeks after the deal was done was still getting calls from Chrysler Capital advising me, my lease was overdue. A month later, get an invoice from Chrysler Capital showing the lease had been returned and $880 was due. Again, unanswered emails to the finance guys and general manager as to whether or not they would pay the lease return fees. Crickets so far….. So, from my experience with Naples Jeep it is way too much to expect them to know how to handle Mopar/Jeep/Chrysler Capital car purchases and leases. Be careful and ensure the deal discussed is the deal written…Let the Buyer Beware. More
