NEVER, EVER, EVER GIVE THESE LYING, GREEDY " PEOPLE" A DIME OF YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY. THEY WILL RIP. YOU. OFF. They sold us a car under completely false and hostile pretenses - they promised multiple times to fix the cause of a check engine light (we would NEVER have bought the car otherwise). The car will not pass emissions which means it's worthless - it should never have been offered for sale in that condition and they knew it. We've been going round and round with them for months and now they are insisting we pay half the repairs. To make the whole situation even worse, they never return phone calls - we had to chase them down every single time. It also must be a job requirement for management to be complete a**%$&@s. The recently fired manager Charles was exactly what you picture when thinking about a smarmy used car salesman and unfortunately, his replacement Chris, is no better. After our first attempt at resolving the issue, the salesman told us we should come back in a year so he could get us out of "that jalopy" (are Mercedes' often referred to as jalopies?) Too bad the car won't last 4 months, much less a year. He also recently told us he was afraid of losing his job if he didn't sell us that car because Charles insisted on getting rid of it. We've purchased a car from a Napleton dealership in the past and had a typical car-buying experience - it's never the most fun you'll ever have. Maybe it's just this dealership and the people who run it. Or maybe the company itself has changed in the last few years. Either way, STAY AWAY FROM NAPLETON AUTOWERKS!!! More
I brought my volvo in for work. I would be charged $140 to have the work complete. After two hours of waiting, it was not fixed. I was still charged $140 and said it would be an additional $900 to fix. I to have the work complete. After two hours of waiting, it was not fixed. I was still charged $140 and said it would be an additional $900 to fix. I said it was under warranty. They said it was not. After coming home and calling the volvo 800 no., I gave them my vin no., and they said it was under warranty for another year and I should not have paid a dime. ( It was a electrical issue, which is still under warranty) Have called this dealer about five times to get money back and they keep putting me off!! Do not buy here. At least do not get service here. TERRIBLE!!! More
Misdiagnosed my car to the tune of $3000! They said my car needed a new computer when it only needed a $100 sensor. Thankfully I know enough about cars to know they were trying to rip me off. The sensor t car needed a new computer when it only needed a $100 sensor. Thankfully I know enough about cars to know they were trying to rip me off. The sensor took me about ten minutes to install. Avoid the service department like the plague. When I told them they were WRONG they said " are you a trained Benz technician? " ? Well... I know more than your mechanic does ! Because I fixed it myself. However, I do believe the mechanic knew EXACTLY what he was trying to do.... SCAM ME OUT OF $3000. More
I've been to some very fine Volvo dealerships. Napleton is not on that list. If one chooses not to have work done, there is a $140 inspection fee. This is explained before you wait. No problem, right? We is not on that list. If one chooses not to have work done, there is a $140 inspection fee. This is explained before you wait. No problem, right? Well, after this experience, I don't believe my car was inspected at all(but I still paid the $140). Part of this fee included $9.10 (plus tax) for the fraction of an ounce of window washer cleaner they added (I know it was a small amount because I routinely check fluid levels myself). The "inspector" said my tire tread was between 4/32" and 6/32". My tires are two weeks old. The tread depth is 9/32". Supposedly, the air pressure was adjusted to 39 PSI. I checked: the front was 36 PSI and the rear was 32 PSI (just as I left it). You see, it's all BS. Nothing was ever inspected. I will never return to Napleton. This is without a doubt the worst repair facility I've ever been to. Volvo is very poorly represented at Napleton. More
Just plain awesome experience. Put an online request for a new Mercedes. I was contacted by the General Manager inside of ten minutes. He was direct, knowledgable and professional. Most of all he listened t a new Mercedes. I was contacted by the General Manager inside of ten minutes. He was direct, knowledgable and professional. Most of all he listened to my needs and had sensible solutions. We made an appointment for today. When I showed up the car was cleaned and detailed with a bow sitting in the showroom. Everyone greeted us and offered us refreshments. The staff were very helpful and kind. The whole place was filled with positivity. You could see the salespeople going the extra mile to be courteous and kind. We have never been to a dealership so well run. Thank you charles and ken. Susan Formentini More
Overall I had a positive experience at this dealership. The people were friendly and I got a great deal on a car. I found a minor pricing discrepancy and I emailed the Manager Charles Schmitt and the sale The people were friendly and I got a great deal on a car. I found a minor pricing discrepancy and I emailed the Manager Charles Schmitt and the salesman early Saturday morning before the dealership opened. To my surprise, Mr. Schmitt contacted me within ten minutes of my email and took care of the charge. The dealership is looks great and I experienced no high pressure sales tactics. I had a good rapport with the sales staff and the folks waiting in the service area. Having been in auto sales before in another life, I am very attuned to the games car dealers sometimes play that actually earn the industry it's less than stellar reputation. Because of the way the sales manager, Mr. Schmitt handled my situation I would feel totally comfortable buying another car from them. It was a very pleasant experience. More
Buyer beware! Great brand, great car! Unfortunately, at Napleton,, you have bad people providing bad service. Their horrendous customer service hopefully does not reflect Mercedes' true identity in "owning" a luxury car. There are to many other dealers and brands willing to take this kind of money that makes owning a luxury vehicle worth it. If you want true customer service, do not buy a vehicle from Napleton! Good luck if you do, you will need it. More
Service Guy is really unclear, called about a collision and guy gave absolutely no information as to why I would use their body shop. I was looking for the benefits of their service, all he could say is t and guy gave absolutely no information as to why I would use their body shop. I was looking for the benefits of their service, all he could say is that is between your insurance company and the body shop...we're strictly mechanical, so I asked what about the hidden mechanical damage ... "that's between your insurance and the body shop", so I asked you mean this is not a mechanical repair? ... "that's between your insurance ... Jaguar wise up, Quality = SERVICE More
I had been searching for a couple of months for a car to pay in cash with, at a max of $2500. Yes, $2500. Most dealerships looked at me as if I was crazy and said that I would never get anything decent fo pay in cash with, at a max of $2500. Yes, $2500. Most dealerships looked at me as if I was crazy and said that I would never get anything decent for that money. I let those negative comments go in one ear and out the other. I was DETERMINED to find somebody to help me out here. And, to reward them for their assistance, I promised to return to them in about 1 years time from the time I find a job to upgrade our other car and/or the one I buy from them. I had thought about Napleton Nissan on Route 41 in Schererville because in the past, back in August 2003 to be exact, I purchased a Jeep Liberty from them with no problems from them or the vehicle. I had it for a very joyful 3 years and with zero mechanical or electrical problems. One day, I saw an advertisement for a 99 Volvo S80 and couldn't believe the shape it was in. It looked maybe at a max of 4-5 years old. I brought my husband and ASE Certified uncle with me to view it with sales rep. Conor Scanlon. My uncle was even floored at the shape of the body and under the hood as well. Yes, mileage is high, however, with Volvos, it's not a big deal. I got the AutoCheck report and noticed this car was a either a rental or leased vehicle throughout it's lifetime. That's a good thing if you've ever signed a lease or rental agreement, you'll know that these cars are REQUIRED to be highly maintained. Yes, there is some wear and tear on some of the leather, but, I happen to know a person with 30 yrs. experience who can re-do upholestry (car, home, leather, etc.) And, Mr. Scanlon was honest about the 02 sensors needing to be replaced. After purchasing the car, my uncle ran diagnostics on the Volvo via his machine at his home and lo and behold, everything was in good and working order except the 02 sensors needing to be replaced. He also re-checked everything he looked at and looked at all the oils. He was surprised to see the transmission fluid nice and pink like it should be. He said that is a great sign for the car since any major transmission problems would show the oil being brown and smelling like cinnamon. It has been 3 weeks and all is well. It drives very beautifully, very smooth. I'm sold on Napleton twice over!! More
It was a very pleasant car shopping experience. Both Conner and Joe were very friendly and seemed genuine. They were not pushy. Even after our purchase, I have had to visit the dealership to pick up so Conner and Joe were very friendly and seemed genuine. They were not pushy. Even after our purchase, I have had to visit the dealership to pick up some items, and Conner was very helpful. He spent time with me and helped put our new mats in the car, and also placed our new vanity plate on the vehicle. I was very impressed with that. Joe(Francis)was very professional and thorough. We were looking for a certain type of used Mercedes and with the help of Gary, I now have my dream car. Thank you all!! More
