If you're going to charge for credit card transactions, you should have a cash drawer ready. I brought my vehicle in to have the rear camera replaced, but after the repair I was informed that the newly installed camera was defective and would need to be replaced again. Communication throughout the process felt unclear and vague at times, and I had to follow up myself to get more detailed information about what was actually wrong. While the staff eventually confirmed the replacement part was defective, I would have appreciated more proactive communication, clearer explanations, and faster updates throughout the repair process. The experience left me feeling uncertain and needing to advocate for basic information regarding the repair and next steps. More

I brought my vehicle to the service department at Napleton Downtown Chicago to fix an issue with Super Cruise, and this has been one of the worst service experiences I’ve had. After inspecting my Napleton Downtown Chicago to fix an issue with Super Cruise, and this has been one of the worst service experiences I’ve had. After inspecting my car, they told me the problem was caused by my license plate being mounted on the lower right grille, supposedly blocking the long-range radar. That didn’t make sense because I had been driving like that for about five months with no issues. Still, I trusted their diagnosis and paid nearly $700 for a new bracket relocation and installation. After the work was completed, they told me the issue was fixed. It was NOT fixed. Within two hours of picking up my vehicle, I was back on the road and realized Super Cruise still was not working—even on clearly mapped roads where it should have been fully functional. I immediately called the shop to let them know. This was not something I waited days to report—it was almost right after leaving. I later spoke with another shop in Indiana, and they told me that the license plate placement would not have caused the issue I was experiencing. When I returned to Napleton, they changed their diagnosis and told me the problem was actually the shark fin antenna on top of the vehicle, which had been damaged earlier in the winter. Now they want to charge me another $400+ plus labor to fix that. So I paid over $700 for a misdiagnosis, the problem was never fixed, and now they want even more money to repair what appears to be the real issue—while refusing to refund or correct their mistake. To make matters worse, I even went on a test drive with the technician. During the drive, he kept insisting that Super Cruise was “working,” even though it clearly was not. He was confusing it with basic driver assistance features. I had to explain to him what Super Cruise actually is and how it works. Even after I explained it, he still insisted it was working when it wasn’t. He didn’t even understand the steering wheel indicator light that shows when Super Cruise is properly engaged. This is extremely concerning—because the person diagnosing my vehicle didn’t even fully understand the system he was working on. This entire experience shows a lack of knowledge, accountability, and professionalism. Customers should not be charged hundreds of dollars for incorrect diagnoses, especially when the issue remains unresolved. At this point, I’ve spent over $700 for nothing and am being asked to spend even more to fix a problem that should have been properly diagnosed from the start. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before trusting this service department with your vehicle. More
