My experience at Nalletons Dealershop in Urbana March 3, 2017, I went to Napelton of Urbana to buy a used car. I had been living overseas teaching in China, Turkey, and Bosnia for 18 years and at 8 March 3, 2017, I went to Napelton of Urbana to buy a used car. I had been living overseas teaching in China, Turkey, and Bosnia for 18 years and at 87 returned to my farm in Illinois. Needed to keep the price below $5,000 but the only thing they showed worthwhile was a 2002 Toyota Camry XLE for $6,900 which I asked for a reduced price and lowered to $6,400. I asked the NADA or Kellys Blue book evaluation, the salesman said he didn't have that information. I gave my credit card four times to the salesman to put $2,000 down and pay for vehicle registration, license and $80 monthly insurance. A week later and engine check shows on the dashboard and I returned to have a service check. the accountant went to service garage and knocked on the passenger side for me to open the door. She opened the door and took out all the paper work but nothing was done on checking the engine and after half an hour was told to go. But papers were not returned to the glove compartment but put under the passenger seat where I found them three months later. If I had been in an accident or stopped by the police I would have been arrested and put in jail. But then the insurance company raised its premium to $1,59 and the U of I Credit Union was charging 11.5% on the sum of charges that was now that came up to $5,900. I then went to my new bank to apply for a loan and the manager pulled up the NADA book evaluation and said he could only lend me the highest price for trade in value and the insurance man wanted access to my new bank account and a trip to the U of I credit Union Raised my monthly payers to $186 on November 17, 2017. My experience at Napleton for a 2002 Toyota with NO Warranty was not very good. More

Customer Service Napleton’s handled my problem head on. They were very fast and responsive to all of my needs for purchasing a new vehicle. From working with the service department to the general manager and finance department all of them were great and made the dreaded car buying process fast and painless. I have been a VW owner for over 15 years. I’m not a fan of change. Kevin Abrams at VW went above and beyond to help insure all my questions were meet and explained things to me in detail for my big step of switching VWs. I loved my car and would have pushed it for miles even after it was well past it’s prime. Kevin made sure not only to take my future into consideration but my daughters as well when deciding which car would be best for our family. He made the process very smooth. He answered all 5 million of my questions without hesitation. And even helped get my car seat installed. His customer service represents the values the VW uphold. I am very thankful and would recommend Kevin Abrams to anyone who wanted a straight shooter, knowledgeable, Professional and repeatable sales consultant for the purchase of any vehicle. More
The worst dealership I have dealt with in Central Illinois After car shopping in the Peoria/Bloomingotn area for the past month, I decided to stop at Napleton’s while visiting from out of town for the weekend— After car shopping in the Peoria/Bloomingotn area for the past month, I decided to stop at Napleton’s while visiting from out of town for the weekend—I wish I hadn’t. From the very beginning, the salesman was argumentative and uninformed. We started off our conversation by him arguing with me over what type of car we were looking at, despite the fact that the model and trim level were clearly stated on the sticker in the window for all to see. He was unable to answer some questions about the vehicle, turned out to be wrong on some questions I asked, and only wanted me to drive through a residential neighborhood where there was a stop sign every block for my test drive. After the test drive, he requested I come inside to talk numbers. I informed him that I knew the vehicle was priced lower online than it was on the lot. He seemed very concerned over this, and the process only continued to get more suspicious. However, he promised me that I/the vehicle qualified for three rebates, plus 0% financing. When he came back with his offer, he told me two rebates weren’t going to happen and that the third didn’t even exist. At this point, I had lost interest. I gave a bottom line price, which prompted a visit from the sales manager. This man never gave me his name and instead took to berating me immediately—telling me (very condescendingly) that I was ridiculous to think I could get any rebates (even though they were promised) or that they would budge from their sticker price. I was informed that he came to work to make money and that this simply wasn’t going to make him enough. I told him how misleading the entire process had been and that I wanted to leave. Instead, he continued to all but yell at me—belittling me along the way as if I hadn’t ever bought so much as a loaf of bread. After some additional research, I found out that the vehicle DOES qualify for rebates through Mazda, and they’re even more than I had been told. Many things happened in between these highlights, but overall, I’m glad I left Napleton’s without a car, despite how much I liked the vehicle itself. An honest process and knowledgeable salespeople would have made me a customer for life; instead, I’ll avoid Napleton’s and continue to shop elsewhere. More
