Buying a car through Napleton's has been the worst mistake of my life. I'm a recent graduate and they are a huge sponsor for the University of Illinois, so I assumed that they were a well-regarded dea mistake of my life. I'm a recent graduate and they are a huge sponsor for the University of Illinois, so I assumed that they were a well-regarded dealership. I bought my car in November and they kept us at the dealership for hours after I agreed to purchase a vehicle. They knew that we were in a hurry because we had tickets to a football game in the afternoon. They kept my partner and me there right up until the game started, and then brought us back to sign the paperwork because they knew that we would be in a hurry. Previously, they said that they would provide a service contract for no extra cost. I will admit that it was my fault for not reading the paperwork more carefully before I signed it, but this was my first car purchase and I was naive and trusted that the paperwork reflected what we had discussed. Upon reviewing the paper later, I had been charged thousands of dollars for the service contract. They also tried to say that to receive financing on my car, I had to buy their service contract. After contacting my credit union, I found out that that was a lie. When I was Googling to see if other car buyers had ever had this experience, guess which dealership came up again and again? Napleton's! Other Napleton's dealerships had been fined by the FTC for doing exactly what this location did to me. When I spoke to friends and colleagues about my experience, they shared that they have also had terrible experiences with this dealership. I'm not sure how they have such high ratings on Google, because I've never actually spoken to anyone who has had a good experience with this dealership. More
