New Motors started as a gas station in 1927 in Hartstown, PA as a gas and service station with Vincent New as proprietor. He later grew to selling Chevrolet's and pre-owned farm equipment.
As times changed in the automotive industry, the Chevrolet sales were eliminated and replaced with a used car outlet and Volvo's acquisition in 1963 followed by Saab and Fiat. His 2 sons, Larry and Gary, began working in their father's garage in the early 60's.
The New brothers quickly learned that hard work and good service would earn a customer for life. It was this work ethic that influenced Larry and Gary to develop the company's mission statement:
"To ensure that you remain our customer for life we are committed to exceed your expectations---Period!"
Every employee from the original 3, to the current 95, practices the mission statement, striving for customer satisfaction.
The decision was made to move the dealership to Erie, PA as an exclusive Volvo dealer in 1970. The 8,000 square foot building was built on 3 acres of land. Vincent New passed away just 3 short months after the completion of the New dealership. He did not get to see the expansion to 80 acres with facilities combining 42,500 square feet of work space with 2 showrooms housing the current pre-owned department and 3 franchises (Subaru, Volkswagen, and BMW).
New Motors is now the top parts wholesaler in PA, Ohio, New York, Virginia, and West Virginia. The company has earned the dealer of excellence and Stellar Performers Certification from Subaru for their drive in outstanding customer Satisfaction.

We found our experience at New Motors was very positive. This being our second purchase of a BMW here we were well informed by Steve of the new qualities and performances to expect from our 2011 BMW. This is my 3rd vehicle purchase from New Motors and it was very easy! Allen ran the sale smoothly. We were in and out with our new car in a very timely manner with no haggling. I was hesitant to come back after purchasing my Passat in 2005 because of the service department, but something had changed dramatically by the time I bought my first Touareg and I have absolutely no complaints! We pruchased a 2010 Jetta TDI. I have only had it a week and am very pleased with everything about the car. The dealership was a great experience. We were treated very well. Steve Quinn offered a great deal and was very accommodating. I was able to get the model and color I wanted and was provided a loaner car while I waited for the car to be delivered from another accommodating. We had a few phone conversations with Mindy about trading our 06 outback in. On the day we went to trade we met Phil Glass. He was great, he answered all our questions, we did some dealing and before long we our 06 outback in. On the day we went to trade we met Phil Glass. Scott was very nice and told me about the Suburus. I owned one in the late 70's and I wanted to own one again. He apologized when I came to get my car as they were so busy but I understood. The only thing I was disapointed in was that the tape under the gas pedal was not removed and no information was written on the tags on the inside windows.
