Purchased two vehicles and traded in one. They changed ommitted paperwork at the end of the day (they handed me a white 5 x 8 envelope) and there was no paperwork stating the "value" of my trade in (that ommitted paperwork at the end of the day (they handed me a white 5 x 8 envelope) and there was no paperwork stating the "value" of my trade in (that we agreed upon). They owed me $800.00 balance on the trade in (after we applied 3200 to down payments), and said they would give me the balance when we handed in the Title (I didn't know I was going to buy the cars that day so I didn't bring it with me). When we brought the title in two days later Victor Paguay said it would take 3 weeks to process check. Now six weeks later and several calls later he states there's no such money due me. Additionally, there were fees added to the agreement that were not discussed (if I do not "buy" (not lease another car from them) the car after the lease is up I have to pay 395.00). We also had paperwork that he changed manually on the bottom and that is not in our paperwork. More
BEWARE!! WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER!!! THINK TWICE ABOUT THIS DEALERSHIP!!! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE – POOR SERVICE DEPARTMENT!! THEY EVEN HANG UP PHONES ON YOU AND THEIR PRICES ARE ALL LIES!! PRE-OWNED VEHICLES CO DEALERSHIP!!! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE – POOR SERVICE DEPARTMENT!! THEY EVEN HANG UP PHONES ON YOU AND THEIR PRICES ARE ALL LIES!! PRE-OWNED VEHICLES COME WITH ISSUES AND THEY WILL NOT TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THEM!! This dealership sold me an SUV with mechanical problems and refuses to exchange it. I financed a $32K Armada in late October 2011. Five days after my purchase, I had to bring it into the service department because of knocking sounds etc. The SUV spent nearly 2weeks in their shop and required me to get a rental car. Yes, the dealership paid for it, but this was an inconvenience to me as the clock on my monthly payments had already begun and I didn’t have use of my SUV which I am paying for. After spending several days in their shop I was told that there was major work needed – change the entire drive shaft and rear differential - Why was this not found at the time of prepping?? I had spent many hours at the time of purchase because Nissan garden City claimed that the SUV was undergoing extensive prepping for safety measures. I was patient and quite glad that the dealership was interested in my safety. I had to bring the SUV back about 2 weeks thereafter for another knocking sound and because of excessive idling and vibration when the SUV is in gear. It took for three different mechanics, all top mechanics at that, to check the vehicle and find nothing. How can you find nothing wrong with a vehicle that is making a loud humming sound??? They heard the noise I was complaining but just didn’t feel like fixing anything. Ok, I decided to wait it out another week until the humming noise and shaking vibrations became excessive. Now for the third time at the service department and only having the vehicle at this point for 6 weeks, I brought it back to have the shop manager check it himself and this idiot smiled at me and laughed. What the xxxx is so funny??? I complained to the service manager who was so disrespectful to me, yes he yelled, but he sent yet another mechanic, now the 5th mechanic in the service department to test drive along with myself to hear and feel the problems we are complaining about since the others were not confident enough. This mechanic told us he heard everything and agreed there was a problem with the mechanisms. He went into the service manager’s office to tell him the same, but the service manager closed out our ticket and had the receptionist put on the ticket that there was no finding. Now irate, I went into the service manager’s office and demanded an answer to this ridiculous finding! He replied “that the space is too small to say that there is a mechanical issue.” He also continued on to say that if the department attempts to fix the problem, it will only make it worse. Doesn’t that mean then that the problem cannot be fixed??? I made the service manager write the same in his own handwriting on the service ticket. Immediately thereafter I went to the sales department to bring forth my complaints since the vehicle was now in my possession for only 6 weeks. I was greeted by sales managers who insisted that they would “swap” me out of the defective vehicle as soon as my title arrives. “No worries” I was told by them. I went home believing this. A few days or so later, I received in the mail and offer to “swap” out of my vehicle but when I called to take action on it, I was told that I have to wait on my title first. Meanwhile, I kept in contact with the sales manager that gave me this promise of doing the swap and he assured me times over that he will take care of my needs once the title arrives. The title arrives finally on January 13, 2012. The sales manager is contacted and an appointment is scheduled to come in on January 16th. Just bring in your title we are told again. WE WERE LIED TO!! THERE IS NO SWAP YOUR VEHICLE TO MAKE IT RIGHT BECAUSE WE SOLD YOU A DEFECTIVE VEHICLE. A CREDIT APPLICATION WAS SHOVED IN MY FACE. THESE PEOPLE HAD THE NERVE NOT ONLY TO MAKE ME RUN MY CREDIT BUT TO TELL ME THAT MY VEHICLE THAT I NOW HAVE FOR 2 ½ MONTHS HAS NEGATIVE EQUITY AND I AM NOT ABLE TO USE IT FOR A TRADE IN AT THIS TIME. HOW STUPID ARE WE??? IM NOT HERE FR A TRADE-IN!! I’M HERE TO GET OUT OF THE DEFECTIVE VEHICLE THAT WAS SOLD TO ME IN OCTOBER 2011 AND THAT YOUR SERVICE DEPARTMENT CANNOT EVEN FIX THESE SERIOUS ISSUES. NISSAN OF GARDEN CITY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMERS BECAUSE THEY ONLY WANT THE SALE = MONEY. IF YOUR CAR OR TRUCK IS DEFECTIVE ONCE YOU DRIVE OFF THEIR PRE-OWNED CERTIFIED LOT, YOU ARE DAMNED SCREWED BECAUSE THE MECHANICS CANNOT FIX THE PROBLEMS AND THE MANAGEMENT WILL ONLY CALL YOU AND FURTHER xxxx YOU OFF BY HANGING UP THE PHONE IN YOUR EAR. THEY DID THAT TO ME TODAY!!! More

My father and I had came to buy a new 2012 Nissan Rogue at the Garden City location. I liked the car but they did not have the color I wanted. The dealer, Victor Paguay, was trying to sell me different c at the Garden City location. I liked the car but they did not have the color I wanted. The dealer, Victor Paguay, was trying to sell me different colors they had on their lot, but I was not liking the colors. When I asked if they could locate the color, they told me how silver(the color I wanted) is so boring and each time I denied a car he would try to sell, I could hear him growl, grunt, and mumble to himself. He finally agree to locate the car but in return we had to put a hold for $500.00 on our credit card-which my father gave. When we heard about the recall, I decided not to get the car. I went back and told them to cancel everything and to credit back our $500. At first they were forcing us to take the car and lowered the price. When they realized it was not about the price and it was a safety concern for us, they agreed to credit us back by 12/19/11. They did not credit us back. I called and spoke to Victor Paguay, who lied and told me because of the holiday time, it probably did not show up yet at the bank. I then spoke to a manager, Roosevelt, who told me that I confused my "Mondays" and that they were going to credit me on 12/26/11. I asked to be credited right away- the time I called was at 1:45pm. Roosevelt then goes on to tell me, that "the girls in the office who does those transactions" are closed- meanwhile I was told the first day we agreed to cancel, those "girls" are there from 9-5. I was told again by Roosevelt, that I was given the wrong information. He said he'll take care of it by 12/26/11. It has still not been done. I called and left a message for Roosevelt, which, they still have not responded to. My father called today and reached, Victor Paguay, who told him again he will do it on Monday 1/2/11. We are going in circles with these people. They are untrustworthy, and unreliable. NOT PROFESSIONAL at all. I'm glad I did not purchase a vehicle with them! My advice, stay away from Garden City Nissan. More

I see several negative reviews about this dealer so I feel I compelled to write about my two very positive leasing experiences in 2010 and 2011. In August, 2010 a friend of mine recommended them to me feel I compelled to write about my two very positive leasing experiences in 2010 and 2011. In August, 2010 a friend of mine recommended them to me because he got a great deal on an Altima and my Honda lease was ending. Roosevelt Williams was my excellent and extremely knowledgeable sales rep and we worked out pricing that put me into a 39 month MaximaSV lease at a very attractive rate. The entire process including negotiations, insurance card, and delivery was accomplished in a few short hours and the car was prepped and immaculate. They also have someone who sits in the car with you upon delivery and spends as much time as you need explaining how everything operates. He even checks to insure that your spare is in the trunk, sets up your cell phone blue tooth, clock, service timer, makes sure they gave you a free full tank of gas, etc. Then last month, September, 2011, after only 13 months into my 39 month lease, they sent me a letter with a promotion to exchange my used 2010 Maxima for a brand new 2011 Maxima. Of course I was certain that this had to be some sort of trick and that I was going to waste my time driving over. But I couldn't resist the temptation. This time I worked with Dwayne Evans who was also terrific [Roosevelt Williams has been deservedly promoted] and, after some brief negotiating and a couple of hours of new and plate and insurance transfer paperwork, I drove away in a brand new 2011 MaximaSV with a full tank of gas -- over $50 of premium grade. Because I selected some additional options such as the monitor package, my monthly rate increased, and of course I had to pay DMV transfer fees, inspection fee, $12.50 NY tire fee, and some dealer paperwork fees, but I could not have been more pleased. I told them I would do this every year. After all, they took my used dirty car with its worn tires, dings and dents, a couple of scraped alloys, and with hardly any gas in the tank and put me into a brand new 2011. I spoke to Nissan corporate leasing department today and they confirmed that the dealer absorbed the fees to close out my 2010 lease at no cost to me and that there was no charge for the dings and dents on the car and that the car was already picked up and sent to auction. What more can I say? Oh, they even schedule you for their $8.95 express oil change special. Having bought and leased cars so many times, I can say that I do not hesitate to recommend Nissan of Garden City. More
SCAM ALERT! Finance manager aka lie-nance mangaer I went to dealership in Aug 2011 because there is some end of the year sale going on ,with 0% APR and $500 cash back.Sales man Richard Cox dealt with I went to dealership in Aug 2011 because there is some end of the year sale going on ,with 0% APR and $500 cash back.Sales man Richard Cox dealt with us and agreed on a price which include tax and other fess.He went away when we are signing the contract with finance manager,DANIEL GARCIA.He offered us the extended warranty worth $2000 ,which we agreed to buy.then he ask us to wait for an hour for preparation of papers, then after one hr we were asked to signed the contract without receipt of $2000 warranty, instead he showed that amount as taxes and administrative fees.he just hand over the contract which states the car price $2000 more than the agreed price saying its meant for extended warranty. On persistent query he mentioned that just see the total money you are paying don't read the figures in between.Next day we were given the contract paper and then i came to know that its all a scam as my warranty is given $0 value on paper ,so i cant cancel that either!later i found out that the same warranty is available for $800 ,for which i was charged $2000 and over that i was not given receipt ,so i wont come back for cancellation or refund!its such an unfair business practice ,i cant believe how they can do this.i keep on contacting them but nothing has worked out for me ! This is the worst dealership with which I have ever dealt. At first, they give you a “great” deal on what you think is a nice, new car. Then they start adding in the sneaky extras. We had to pay $500 f dealt. At first, they give you a “great” deal on what you think is a nice, new car. Then they start adding in the sneaky extras. We had to pay $500 for a set of keys because our brand new car only came with one set of keys. When I sat down with the finance manager, he wanted to lie on the credit application and list my employer from 7 years ago because I had been a stay at home mom. He wanted me to sign blank papers because he wanted to fill them out the following day. After we purchased the vehicle, they discontinued the free oil change program. They discontinued the program where your car gets washed for free when you bring it in for any service. The gas tank actually fell INTO the car when we were filling it up one day and service claimed that it wasn’t covered under the warranty. We had to pay over $1,000 for them to release the car and Nissan issued us a check after we complained. One time we activated the remote start that the dealership installed and the car went into lockdown mode and would not open. I WOULD NOT recommend this dealership or their inferior vehicles. Take your hard-earned money and spend it elsewhere. More
After purchasing my 2008 Altima Coupe from Nissan of Garden City in March I had an issue with the brakes right away. I brought it in for service and was told that it was the spacers and that they were Garden City in March I had an issue with the brakes right away. I brought it in for service and was told that it was the spacers and that they were fixed. After taking my car home I immediately noticed that they were still squeaking. I called time & time again looking for the service manager Sean but never got a call back. After calling 4 times on my 5th call they told me he no longer worked there and there was a new service manager. When he called me back he had an attitude and told me that to much time had passed it was now July and that I could bring it in but that he couldn't guarantee me no charge even though the issue began the day I bought the car. When I reached out to my salesman Trevor I told him the issue and he was apologetic and told me he would call me back the next day and I still have not heard from him, 26 days later. I scheduled my car for service on 7/26 and told them the issue...brakes and now it was making a noise in the front of the car. When I dropped off the car I dealt with a man named Teddy and was told it would be ready the next day. When I called the next day to find out the status with my customer service representative Teddy it took me 3 phone calls and messages to have him call me back. When I finally got in touch with him bc I called a 4th time he said the brakes had a hole in the reservoir and that it would be ready for pick up later that day. When I asked what the noise was in the front of the car he said...oh I forgot about that we'll check it out now and call you back. AGAIN no phone call back so I called him AGAIN to find out the status. I live an hour and a half from this dealership so after making 90% of the trip when I called to tell them I would be later than expected they told me it needed to stay another day and that they had a rental car set up for me. When I got there the rental car they set up for me was to be paid BY ME with my own credit card which was clearly not going to happen bc he told me he had a service car waiting for me. After this I went to the front showroom to see about getting a service car even after Teddy told me there were none a man named Mark found one and told me they needed to clean it and it would be a half hour. TWO and a half hours later my boyfriend & I were still waiting and when I asked them they clearly had forgotten about me and told me that it was really dirty and would be done soon. A half hour later I had the service car. The next day I called back to find out the status of my car AGAIN bc no one had called me all day and Teddy finally told me it needed a new transmission but I could come and pick it up. When I got there I asked Teddy how long it would be for the transmission & he told me that it was on back order and that I should call them in 10 days to find out its status. When I asked why I should call them about something they ordered he stated that it was just better for me to call them and find out bc they have a lot of cars they deal with. Exactly 10 days later I called about the status of my transmission and Teddy told me that it was not in and still on back order bc there was a tsunami in Japan and thats where the transmission came from. I was amazed at the answer. He told me again to call back on the 15th and he would let me know if it was in and told me the car was ok to drive. When I asked what they would do if the car broke down bc I drive an hour to and from work he said they really couldn't do much but AGAIN provide me with a rental car at my own expense. I am a 29 year old woman but needed to ask my parents opinion of this bc it didn't sound right to me. My mom has a friend who is a salesman at the dealership so she called on him to look in to whatever the issue here was. When he called her back he said the service manager would look in to the issue and get back to her. TWO days later the manager had still not called. When he finally did he had no idea there was an issue to begin with. He told her he would look in to it and call her right back...again the call back was not until the next day. His conclusion was that the transmission MAY OR MAY NOT have been ordered he wasn't sure....how do they not know if it was ordered or not!!! This was on 8/19 23 days after the car was initially brought in for service. Today is now 8/23 and we STILL have not heard anything back about the status of my transmission being ordered or when I can bring it in to be fixed. I have now brought my car to Nissan of Riverhead on sat 8/20 and that day they figured out the issue with the car telling me that the car does NOT need a new transmission that it needs parts for the transmission and they could have it done this week. The service dept in Riverhead told me that Nissan would NOT have given the ok for a new transmission bc it did not need one and that Nissan of Garden City would have known that if they hooked it up to the diagnostic machine. I saw the print out myself on what it needs and was AMAZED at what had happened here with my new car. I would NEVER bring my car back to Nissan of Garden City or purchase anything from them ever again. They have totally turned me off to my car that I pay for every month and made me wish I never did business with any Nissan to begin with. More
I got ripped of with interest rates.I was charged high interest of 19%.They took advantage of my vulnarability of not so high credit score. They made me sign in blank papers.I tried to refinance to lower m interest of 19%.They took advantage of my vulnarability of not so high credit score. They made me sign in blank papers.I tried to refinance to lower monthly payments but banks are turning me down because my L T V is 105% (because of high interest rate charged.) I stopped payment of my deposite to settle this matter eventually. But I have been receiving threatning phone calls and text messages of criminal nature from the dealer, which I have saved. I am a heart patient with multiple hertattachs and a cardiac arrest and I did not want to confront them directly. I fear danger to my life,If things go out of control.Hence this letter.Espcially after repeated threats.(Very dagerous and unethical business practice) I am bound to default on my monthly payments which is due on on 29th.$525/00.At this rate I could have purchased a new Bmw or Mercedes !!! Ineed help to sort out this problem amicably. Some one from Nissan please contact. Please e mail me.At this stage I am afraid to give my phone number, afraid of reprisal. More
