At Hyundai Cerritos, our salesperson, Jose Arteaga was upfront an her first 'new' car. We had visited many dealerships looking at different models. We told him what we were looking for the price we wanted as a monthly payment as well as what we had to put down. Jose said he could make it happen and he did! We surprised our daughter Saturday morning announcing that we were going to purchase a car for her as an early college graduation gift. Beyond stunned she was. We had no idea what to look for nor her interests. We didn't know a thing about a Hyundai and a Ferrari was out! There is much more to car shopping than "what will my payments be" which is usually always the main focal point and clouds every reasoning skill one has. So we were at the mercy of a sales person for help and guidance. But they don't want to help, they want your freshly written check. We arrived at the dealership, peering around waiting to see which sales person was going to open our car doors and quickly shuffle us to the nearest car. Wrong! We were greeted by a salesman who introduced himself as Vito. Vito asked us what we were looking for and lead us on our way. He explained everything the car had to offer, the functionality of it, the safety rating and warranty. He knows the cars inside and out and we found ourselves inquiring on models we didn't even intend to purchase. He was so knowledgeable and so pleasant to talk and listen to. Not once did he try to sell us a car. He simply explained to us what the car had to offer. We knew we wanted to buy a car, we don't need sales people to push us in that direction. We need a salesperson to tell us what we are spending our money on and learn about the car at the dealership, not from the manual when we bring it home. He was awesome to work with and if you do the simple steps above, you will be writing the same review I am. Now... when our college grad gets all grown up and on her own and she wants to upgrade to a Ferrari...she's on her own! My checkbook stays home and so do I!
