I purchased a used Toyota Land Cruiser First Edition, working with Jordan. He worked hard and put up with a lot of my xx. But he got me everything that I wanted on the deal. An Insulting, Deceptive, and Systematically Dishonest Experience. Avoid at All Costs. If I could give zero stars, I would. This was, without exaggeration, the most condescending and fundamentally dish Experience. Avoid at All Costs. If I could give zero stars, I would. This was, without exaggeration, the most condescending and fundamentally dishonest car dealership experience I have had in over two decades of buying new cars. The process at Northside Chevrolet is not designed to create a fair deal; it is a systematic attempt to deceive and take advantage of customers, and I have the numbers to prove it. Here is a factual, step-by-step breakdown of the bad-faith tactics you can expect: 1. The Bait-and-Switch on the Lease Payment: Their own website's calculator estimated a lease payment of around $222-281 for the car I wanted. The initial offer their salesperson presented to me was $609 per month. When I pointed out this nearly $400 discrepancy, the salesperson actually tried to claim that "taxes and fees" could explain the difference. This is not just a lie; it is a condescending and insulting one. 2. The Deceptive Trade-in Process: I came prepared with a written, binding, 7-day offer from CarMax for 20,000 for my 2023 Bolt EUV. Northside′s first and only offer was 16,500. 3. The Insulting Justifications and Fictional Fees: When I refused the lowball trade-in offer, the salesperson went to "talk to the manager." After a ten-minute wait, she returned with the exact same $16,500 offer, but this time with a new set of lies to justify it: She claimed the KBB value was $1,400 less than the "Very Good" condition value that I had researched. She then claimed they needed to deduct another $1,500 for a "reconditioning fee" to clean up a spilled milkshake stain around the cupholders. 4. The Institutional Disrespect: The fact that a new salesperson, after a supposed "management review," came back to me days later with the exact same bad numbers proves this is not one bad employee. This is their official, top-down, institutional strategy. Conclusion: The process at Northside Chevrolet is clear: they lure you in with the promise of a good deal, then they systematically try to dismantle your confidence with fabricated numbers and fictional fees, hoping you are not informed enough to catch them. This wasn't a negotiation; it was an attempt to see if I was a fool. It was a complete waste of my time. Management was made aware of these specific, documented issues and did nothing to correct them. Do not walk, run away from this dealership. There are honest and professional Chevy dealers in San Antonio who will treat you with respect; my experience proves that this is not one of them. More
This dealership is the epitome of xxxx and why so many hate the car buying process. Beware of Northside’s FALSE discounted prices on their website in attempts to lure their customers in to purchase a vehi hate the car buying process. Beware of Northside’s FALSE discounted prices on their website in attempts to lure their customers in to purchase a vehicle. This is called bait and switch and illegal per the FTC. They will add mandatory add ons that raise the price $3-4k that is not reflected in their pricing until you start negotiating your trade, etc. A dealer cannot force a customer to buy add ons, however they refuse to remove them. Also, charging $1098 for the Northside Protection Package, which is just tint and door guards, is an absolute joke and any educated individual would know that. Thankfully we did not waste our time physically going to dealership as we live out of town and wanted numbers ran first. Do your homework before presenting yourself to this place and being subjected to their disgusting practices. I read plenty of other negative reviews from others with the same experience. More
