Misdiagnosis and lack of responsibility The worst experience I’ve ever had at a dealership. I went in for a recall repair. I dropped the car off on Wednesday evening. On Thursday they called The worst experience I’ve ever had at a dealership. I went in for a recall repair. I dropped the car off on Wednesday evening. On Thursday they called on some repair items inclusive of timing solenoid replacement as this is what the code called for the estimate for this was over $600 which I authorized. I did not get a call on Friday at all. On Saturday morning I received a call that the the solenoid repair was not the issue and that they had to replace the outer timing cover as it was scored. (I suggest this may have happened in the removal of original solenoids.) In any event the best estimate they could give me was an additional $801 to now replace the cover to remove the code. This was unacceptable to me as the cost of labor was excessive for something they should have diagnosed initially. . They did not do anything to lower the cost estimate. I told them that I wanted the car restored back to the drivable condition that it was in on Wednesday. I then picked it up as I don’t trust the service department of this dealership. I called the service manager, Steve Sheldon, on Monday afternoon and have not yet got a return call. Totally unacceptable experience with Boch Nissan. More
