On November 12 I flew from MN to The Ontario area to help my, newly relocated, daughter purchase a vehicle. She looked at different manufacturers in the area and was very high on VW. I bought a Pre-owned Jetta from Anthony Reyes. Anthony reviewed the vehicle we considered with us at the dealership and answered all our questions. Anthony was knowledgable about the vehicle and demonstrated unique features before the sales to help us finalize our purchasing decision and working with us through the negotiations and financing. Then later after the sales, provided us an overview the vehicle instrumentaton and controls so we were comfortable and safe with our new vehicle. We experinced no pressure sales or bait and switch tactics. The staff was professional and respectful, straight forward and they demonstrated their caring about customer service. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS DEALER!!! Bad experience from the moment I took the car out for a test drive. Salesman texting during test drive, ignored my questions. Then when I started negotiating with the price, he argued with me practically yelling that there was no way that he was lowering the price since it was on sale. Sales mgr came out seemed like the gave a xxxx for a while. Anyway bought the car. 3 weeks later car service light comes on. I call ask him what the xxxx?!! He said well it might have been serviced already he didn't know. Week goes by, couple more days. Finally he says no it hasn't been done. Before purchasing I asked what services were due next I was told that nothing was due for 100,000 MILES!!! Anyway here it was a major service due all $600 worth!! I argue with him why I have to pay for this when I was mislead from the beginning? I hadn't even made the first payment yet! Couple days later, I am STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!!! Car won't turn on for whatever reason! It is towed to the nearest dealer the following morning. I call Tim asking him if he knew of any problems with the car and why all these things are all of a sudden happening? I am upset, he said he will handle it. Fine car is ready in two days. Car drives fine all day long, I was told it was a fuse problem. I turn on the car to go to work the next morning and guess what?? The xxxx thing won't turn ONNNNN!!! So much for piece of mind eh?! I call the dealer he is saying once again he will fix it. Alright well that is great but it is Memorial day weekend and I am late to work again due to the problems with this car. I run to the nearest Enterprise there is nothing available for rent due to the holiday. I call Tim he ok's the extra fees on a premium car, he said he would take care of it. Then I am told I cannot take the rental car until I give them a P.O. number. I can't get the P.O. number until the car is delivered to the shop. Well 2 hrs later I am able to leave with a car. I get my car 7 days later. Car is fine. Week after that I drive over 100 miles to Ontario to get my service done free of charge. I get there only to be told that they had no idea I was coming and that I would have to pay out of pocket and the service takes 4 hrs or longer. I leave and contact Tim, he seems like he cares and apologizes. Car is serviced at the nearest dealer courtesy of Ontario. I then find out that Enterprise did not get paid by the dealer and ALL CHARGES CAME OUT OF MY ACCOUNT! I am told they are taking care of it and well after being ignored repeatedly, I have spoken with VW corporate and I still am not reimbursed for the charges and I am now taking this to court!!! I was told that I kept the rental car too long and now it I have to pay for it. Gosh they are SOOO NICE!!! More
After four weeks from signing my contract and purchasing my vehicle, the dealership calls to tell me that my 60 month loan, which had already been "APPROVED" before I signed, is now unapproved after four we my vehicle, the dealership calls to tell me that my 60 month loan, which had already been "APPROVED" before I signed, is now unapproved after four weeks. The sales rep told me I needed to go back asap to sign a new contract for a 48 month loan which would increase my monthly payment by $55.00. In other words, this dealership is allowing their customers to enter into a contract and drive off the lot hoping that the loan stated in the contract will actually be approved by the bank and if it isn't they try and force you into a new contract or threaten to repossess your vehicle. Can you imagine if all businesses were like this? You buy a book for $10 on Monday and on Friday the bookstore calls to tell you that you owe an additional $5 because the cashier made a mistake. What a shady way to do business. By the way, I am taking this to the media and hiring an attorney. More
Had a really bad experience in Corona - I called VW customer assistance and they suggested I try Ontario VW - glad we did - very friendly - fixed us right up - Highly recommended - totally opposite of customer assistance and they suggested I try Ontario VW - glad we did - very friendly - fixed us right up - Highly recommended - totally opposite of our first experience at the other dealer. The service staff was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I had my car towed in with a emergency repair without an appointment. When we brought the car in for service, we were late in arriving for our scheduled service due to traffic. We had called ahead to notify them of this, and they said that it was not a problem. We arrived at 10:30 AM, 30 minutes after the scheduled time, and from that point the car was not even looked at until after their lunch break. When we dropped the car off we were told that we would be notified by 2 PM to let us know what was wrong with the vehicle. 2 o'clock came and went, without a call from the dealership. I called twice after 2 to find out the status of our vehicle, and was told that they were still looking at it. At FIVE THIRTY, they finally called and told us that the service was not able to be done and that the car was going to be have to left overnight for the service to be completed. This was the first time that the car had ever needed to stay overnight at the dealership in order for the work to be done. When we called the dealership the next day, we asked to speak with the service manager to figure out what went wrong, and to see if there could be a reduction in labor costs on the work that was not covered under our extended warranty, due to their inability to keep to what they said. We were met with a service manager who was rude and who had no idea about the vehicle in question. He wasn't in the least understanding or sorry for the fact that his service team did not stick to their original plan. He also stated that his service desk called us twice around 2 o'clock to let us know that the car was not going to be ready until the next day. We had given them two different phone numbers to call us on, and after checking our phone records, neither of us received any phone calls. He basically insinuated that we were liars and that his service desk people were right. We did not get any discount on the work that needed to be done that was not covered under the extended warranty, and are now going to be going to another VW dealership, regardless of the fact that it is further away.
