Sales Manager is Disrespectful and a Bully I will never purchase another vehicle from Brent Brown Toyota. This is my second purchase from this dealership, and the quality of their customer serv I will never purchase another vehicle from Brent Brown Toyota. This is my second purchase from this dealership, and the quality of their customer service has steeply declined since my last visit. My experience with their sales manager was unacceptable, to say the least. If I had the choice, I’d rather pay more for a vehicle and be treated well, than pay less and be submitted to mental duress and intimidation. The sales manager, Brett Hansen, is extremely condescending and swiftly employs intimidation tactics to coerce customers into believing they owe him additional property, or money, after all paperwork is signed. In my case, both trade in vehicles were parked at Brent Brown Toyota for 4 business days prior to our paperwork being finalized. Brett did not mention any concerns to us (or our salesperson) until our new Toyota’s temporary plates and checklist were being delivered. He strategically waited until all paperwork was finalized to bring up "concerns" that were not legally binding at that point. I asked my salesperson why this was not brought to our attention earlier, and he stated “I did not know either.” Brett claimed that even though we informed our salesperson that our trade-in would have its current stock tires, which was also clearly visible for the several business days it was parked on their lot for, we needed to either pay him 500 dollars that day, deliver after-market tires to him, or have the police involved (which he clearly stated as an intimidation tool). If he had any legitimate concerns, he should have brought them to our attention prior to the contract being finalized. If he had accused us of being dishonest and mistreated us prior to the completion of the purchase, we would have refrained from proceeding with our purchase and gone elsewhere. Brent Brown Toyota is not the only Toyota dealer in business. Brett utilized intimidation tactics and contradicting statements to attempt to coerce us into agreeing to pay him money or give up additional property outside of the terms of our contract. As mentioned before, the trade-in vehicle was parked at Brent Brown Toyota, in its current state for 4 business days prior to Brett making these demands and prior to the contract being finalized. He obviously ensured our contract was signed prior to attempting to intimidate us into doing what he wanted. If he had taking the proper avenue to address his “concerns,” we would not have entered into the referenced contract, and left. My salesman also admitted to Brett that we had advised him that the trade-in would be delivered with stock tires, which was also readily visible to Brett for several business days. However, Brett dismissed this and stated that we must oblige to his demands. On a side note, he also repeatedly called us liars for stating the vehicle had just been worked on and painted. I have the paperwork to prove this, and am not a liar. A sales manager should never speak to customers in that manner! He definitely does not understand the necessity of tact and respect when representing a business. I understand the law and know that threats and harassment do not make demands legally binding. I called the Orem Police Department immediately after this ordeal given Brett's threats. They advised me to seek legal council as this is a civil matter and not within their jurisdiction. I will be reporting my experience to the Utah Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division, the agency with jurisdiction over these type of complaints. I refuse to jeopardize my safety and mental health by returning to this dealership again unless I am accompanied by a peace officer. Thankfully I had my medication prior to arriving at the dealership and was able to avoid a mental breakdown. Even though the salesmen under Bretts management are honest and respectful individuals, he will quickly dismiss anyones authority and inform you that any prior interactions with his team are "misinformed" and hold no weight. He actually took the time to inform our salesman during this ordeal that this was a "learning opportunity" for him. By doing this, he tried to pass blame for the communication flaws within his department to us. If Brett’s team does not represent Brent Brown Toyota, he should not allow them to communicate or negotiate with customers. Be prepared to attain legal council if you decide to perform transactions here, and are told that items OUTSIDE of what is EXPLICITLY STATED between you and your salesman, and what is WRITTEN in your contract, applies to your purchase. Brent Brown Toyota, please do not offer to contact me as Orem Police has advised me to refrain from further interactions with your dealership. I will have my concerns addressed via the appropriate agency. I refuse to submit myself to further harassment or intimidation by Brett. No “deal” or vehicle is worth the humiliation and mental duress a customer undergoes at your dealership given your choice in management. I honestly do not understand how you can have respectful and honest salesmen working under such poor management. Bretts reprehensible management skills and disrespectful demeanor severely undermines the otherwise good experience I would have had at your dealership. More

My wife called me at home to tell me things were getting worked on, I reminded her of another concern we had about our steering mechanism (making sounds). Moe took that information back to the garage and I later found out that some bolts were loose. An airbag recall and transmission flush was handled in a timely manner and with their shuttle service I was also able to make my doctor's appointment too. Very happy with the work done and the great people working at Brent Brown Toyota. More

In fact, I actually look forward to sitting in the comfortable lobby, eating the fresh popcorn and reading while I wait. Yes, there is the dreaded "settling of the bill" at the end, but I am always comfortable at knowing I am taking care of my car in the best way possible.
