Questionable service I am extremely disappointed with the service at this dealership. After trying an independent shop, I decided to take my kids’ car to the professional I am extremely disappointed with the service at this dealership. After trying an independent shop, I decided to take my kids’ car to the professionals to fix an electrical problem and a check engine light. The shop diagnosed both issues and I spent $1700 on a new alternator and set of coils. Not much more than a day after my kids got the car back, the car would not turn over (which was the original problem), leaving my kids stranded. Needless to say, I was not happy to have spent $1700 for nothing, so I called and spoke to Mike the service manager. He said we needed to bring it back in, so they could “make it right.” I had to go through the hassle and expense of arranging another tow and having the car brought back to the dealership. Now aware of my displeasure, the tech had no problem zeroing in on the actually problem -- the radio was shorting out and draining the battery. I know enough about cars, that a parasitic drain from a radio does not require a new alternator. When I pointed that out to Mike, he assured me repeatedly that the tech checked the alternator and it was also bad. I want to believe, but how can I trust a shop that also charged me $84 to needlessly replace a drive belt that was less than 6 months old. Oh, and Mike’s making it right was referring me to Pro Audio to have the radio fixed. Thanks! Now today, the check engine light is back on and the scanner is showing the same codes that replacing the coils was supposed to fix. Really? Is this place taking advantage of naïve college students who have limited experience dealing with car repairs or are the techs just really that bad at diagnosis? I would be deeply ashamed of the service provided if this were my shop. More
