I hoped that relatively short time out of warranty would be considered. I was very surprised after the problem was diagnosed as a failed compressor when my service advisor, Tom, said that Toyota would cover the repair as though the warranty was still valid. This Camry is my first Toyota and this was my first major repair. You can imagine my gratitude as the repair would have cost a lot of money. I couldn't have asked for more consideration from Brent Brown and Toyota. Tom took the initiative and called Toyota and asked about the possibility without my asking.
