Mostly a good experience I worked with Matt Gastaldi on the purchase of a used Jeep Grand Cherokee. Overall the experience was positive. Matt isn't a typical car salesman so t I worked with Matt Gastaldi on the purchase of a used Jeep Grand Cherokee. Overall the experience was positive. Matt isn't a typical car salesman so the test drive and dealing was much more conversational that him giving me the hard sell. I would recommend both Matt and Palmen. But a couple of things did irk me. First: after the test drive while sitting down to figure out paperwork Matt disappeared for long stretches. At one point my girlfriend and I sat alone for a solid 15 minutes. Second: I transferred the plates from my previous car to the one I purchased. I was keeping the other car to sell privately so Matt switched the front plate on my old car to the back of the Jeep. Very nice of him but I never ended up with the screws or plate frame that had been on the front of the old car. It was night and raining out so it's not something I thought to check. So when I sold the old car I had to get new screws. Third: the Jeep had the optional retractable security shade as stated on the window sticker but it was in there when I test drove/bought it. The Jeep had been detailed the day I bought it (seats were still wet) so I thought maybe they had removed it for the detailing and not put it in. I emailed Matt and asked if this might have been the case but mistakenly said it was standard for my vehicle. His response was that it was optional for my Laredo and that I could buy one from their service dept for $283 (going rate online is $200 or less). I responded that I was mistaken about it being standard but it was nevertheless on the window sticker as an option so I would still appreciate it if he'd investigate the issue. I never heard back from him. I mean, at least they could have offered it to me at a more reasonable cost given that it was supposed to be included with the car. But I suppose, once they have your money the service ends. Not sure It would be any better anywhere else, though. More
