BAIT and SWITCH. Roger Tovar, owner, thinks cheating is good BAIT AND SWITCH lives here at Palmetto 57 Nissan. Home of the "Agree to one price and jack up the price on the last piece of paper" deal. BEWARE of t BAIT AND SWITCH lives here at Palmetto 57 Nissan. Home of the "Agree to one price and jack up the price on the last piece of paper" deal. BEWARE of this very deceptive outfit. Larry Jackson (GM) agreed to sell me a car at one price. I agreed. After driving in and spending a day in the process, Carmen the finance guy tries to slip in another $800 above our agreed price. I refused, and asked to speak Larry. Then Carmen just disappeared. Gone. Not a word. We walked out, thinking how hard it would be for someone to spot the gimmick. We thought it would be a cruel and evil trick to play on someone who was not a seasoned car buyer: someone elderly or a woman or someone just out of school. This place will eat you alive. Roger Tovar is the owner, so he must approve of these shady tactics. Roger Tovar must think it is good to try to cheat people like this, and I wonder how many have been cheated by him and his outfit. How many walk in unaware of the mistake they are making? I would never be comfortable with my wife or my sons trying to buy a car here. Roger Tovar and his crew would try to cheat them at the last minute. My wife would be completely frazzled and upset. She would feel beaten up and abused. They would take advantage of her. Roger's tactics are evil. Do yourself a favor. Do not be cheated and lied to. Do not fall for their trick of promising one price and trying to sneak another $800 without you looking. Do not waste your time at Palmetto 57 Nissan. They are a bad dealership that will try to take advantage of you. There are many reliable Nissan dealers out there. But Roger Tovar and his dealership of deception makes me realize that I do not want any part of Nissan. If Nissan thinks Roger is good, then Nissan is not my kind of company. Hey Roger!
