I've had service here 4 times. I'll tell you about each. The first was a squeaky wheel. They gave me a free loaner and, after a few hours, told me the fix was new brakes (which, from talking about each. The first was a squeaky wheel. This service was luxury-car-priced at $300/axle, so I said no. Surprisingly, there was no charge for the "diagnostic". I took the car to my dad and uncle who build cars, and they fixed it by noticing someone had not assembled the rotor properly. I'm not sure if it was Park Place or NTB, so I'll give Park Place the benefit of the doubt. But even if they didn't do it, they should have at least noticed it instead of just giving up and wanting $300-600. The second was a broken key fob. The back cover was cracked so I knew I just needed a new back cover. I couldn't find one online, so I asked my wife to take the key in. They charged her $70 for a brand new key. Needless to say, I was livid and asked her to return the key, which she reluctantly did. Fortunately, they gave us our money and the old key back. I took the key to Sewell on Bryant Irvin the next day and they sold me the new key back for $5 and assembled it for me. The third was for an interesting problem that caused the car to stutter when taking off, and it emitted blue smoke once. I took it to Park Place and told them the problem started immediately after I had the oil changed at Kwik Kar. They gave me a free loaner, and the next day they said "we think the oil level might be too high, so we removed some and we think the problem is gone". They charged me $49 - half of the normal fee since they couldn't prove they solved the problem - and I got the car back. The problem was not gone. I checked the oil level and it was twice as high as it should be. A few days later, Crystal from Park Place (not sure which department) texted me wanting to know how everything went. Within an hour, I replied and told her they didn't fix the problem, so not too well. I got an auto-reply stating she was out of the office for a week. I waited for her to return and still got no response, so a week later I replied again. Again, she never replied. My wife took the car in to Park Place again and they gave us a free oil change, which fixed the problem. The fourth was for recommended maintenance. I wanted the rear differential fluid changed, as well as the drive belt, timing belt and water pump replaced. I also wanted the tires rotated. The price for this was again of the luxury-car range - $1,330 - but I did it anyway because I was scared to take it anywhere but a Lexus dealer for this type of service, and Sewell was the same price and inconvenient. They gave us a free loaner, kept us pretty well informed, and did all the stuff in a day, and my wife picked up the car. She got it less than 2 miles down the road and the Check Engine light came on. It appeared they didn't road test it after replacing the timing belt, which came as a surprise to me since the process of changing a timing belt requires extreme precision-tuning. This was the Saturday before Labor Day. They gave her a different free loaner and didn't work on it until Tuesday even though there was still plenty of time left in the day Saturday (they told me later the tech that road tested the car was gone that day). On Tuesday, they claimed the timing was off, fixed it, and gave the car back to us. The Check Engine light did not re-display. They stated the tech did in fact road test the vehicle, but he didn't follow the Lexus procedure exactly in that he should have road tested it twice (apparently it requires a restart of the engine as well as another short drive in order for the error to be displayed). They did give us a full tank of gas as a "we're sorry". A week later, they sent 2 letters to our home which, before I read them, I thought might be apology letters. Nope - they were just begging us to give them an Outstanding rating on the survey, should I receive one. Obviously, I won't be doing that. I would probably give them an average rating (like I did here). All in all, they did poor and careless work with an eye clearly only on the profit line (which is understandable - businesses have to make money), but when we raised the concerns to them, they usually took care of the issue. And since they give free loaners, we were never out a vehicle. More

I went to Park Place Lexus to receive an estimate on my 2002 ES 300 with the notion of eventually trading it in for a newer used SUV. I told him how much I could afford to pay monthly and he told me he would take care of it. I left that day with a great vehicle at a great value. Since purchasing my vehicle, I have recommended Park Place Lexus and specifically Reuben McPherson to anyone looking for a new vehicle. Because of my experience, I will never purchase a vehicle from another location. More
