Chad and Nicole, in Finance, were both efficent and pleasant to work with. Because the ES330 was an older model, they had to presue several areas in order to secure financing. We are on our third lease of an RX from Park Place. We were on the second year of a three-year lease when Robert Gabriel phoned us to offer a new vehicle at the same lease price. I w Bear with me as this might be long and rambling. I was in the market for an Infiniti Q50 and had preordered one months before it went on sale. I was hyped. I had gone to 2 pre-launch events and spent every day scouring the web for more info. Then the day came where the car hit dealerships and mine wasn't available. I waited a month. Still hadn't arrived. This continued for a few more weeks. In the meantime, my existing, paid-off Infiniti G35 was stacking up miles and needed to be re-tagged so I was on a timer. My salesman at the dealership was lackadaisical with status updates, ETA's, lease numbers, etc. He just wasn't trying to win my business, like it was already in the bag. Went in for another test drive to convince myself to wait and was bum rushed, drove for maybe 8 minutes tops and the guy with me wouldn't quit smashing buttons on the touch screen. Left me with a really bad taste in my mouth. So I decided to shop around. Lo and behold, the Internet revealed the glory of the GS 350 in F Sport trim. It also revealed very attractive lease rates and incentives for the new 2013 models. I took a trip to a few Lexus dealerships and emailed Michael Clayton at Park Place Lexus in Plano, in Internet sales, to check availability and color schemes. I was leaning towards Nebula Grey with the sexy Cabernet red interior. He said swing by for a test drive, and we scheduled an appointment. I brought my title (just in case) and arrived just before lunchtime. After talking for a while, we went off-lot and grabbed a fully loaded GS 350 FSport in Obsidian Black with the Cabernet red leather. It came with the HUD (heads up display) and the dynamic rear steering, 2 rare and awesome options. The first thing I noticed was the gigantic 12.3" full color LCD screen inset far into the dash, displaying navigation, apps, and other data. The ventilated and heated seats were great; the driver's seat has about 18 ways to adjust it including 2 types of lumbar support and upper torso bolster support that tightens or flattens out. So the car was extremely impressive inside and out, with a stunning front fascia, 19" graphite wheels with summer rubber, and the legendary 835 watt, 17 speaker Mark Levinson stereo with 5.1 surround decoding. Basically, an incredible vehicle. But there were specifics, paperwork, numbers to deal with, etc. This is where it got good. Michael Clayton was a straight shooter and I think he realized I had done a bit of reading about the car before I showed up to drive one. We got down to brass tacks fairly quickly without too much "let me talk to my sales manager" nonsense that most car buyers dread. While my stomach growled from missing lunch, I made a decision to go for it. Seconds later I was in the financial office, and a very nice and no nonsense gentleman took my title, had me sign it over, printed out a long sheet of paper, and that was that. I became an owner of a brand new car. Everyone I dealt with was helpful, efficient, and seemed genuinely happy to be at work. This wasn't the DMV, it was a family that was welcoming you to their reunion. This spanned from the front desk receptionist, to the sales staff, to the financial staff, to the service managers. Even the guys in the basement tint shop were friendly. I felt welcome the whole time I was there. Now, this would have been 4 stars across the board, but I dinged them on one simple thing. A free car wash I got a few weeks later at the brand new dealership (during a weekday afternoon) was exterior only. A week before that I had visited a different Park Place dealership that sold Bentleys and McLarens and the car was absolutely spotless inside and out as though a detailer had done it. Even Jiffy Lube vacuums the carpets, guys. Could have been new staff (since the new dealership is so enormous, they might have had to hire a lot more folks) and the guy who dried the car went over it obsessively with a microfiber, even commenting that he "owns a black car also, and I know how hard they are to clean and dry". Benefit of the doubt, I will go back and try again without hesitation once they settle in. Overall, this seems to be a classy dealership run by people who know what they're doing and are happy doing it. I intentionally go to test drives after not shaving for 2 weeks and wearing junky old t-shirts and shorts just to test the staff. I didn't get a single disapproving look from anyone. :) More
