Horrible experience from beginning to end. DON’T GIVE THESE PEOPLE A PENNY! WORST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TYPICAL BAIT AND SWITCH! It’s the classic situati DON’T GIVE THESE PEOPLE A PENNY! WORST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TYPICAL BAIT AND SWITCH! It’s the classic situation where the salesmen treat you like royalty before you buy something but once they have your money they treat you like xxxx. I bought a used 2012 Optima here a few months ago and I’ve had nothing but problems since. Worst of all, no one from the dealership has worked with me or even showed an ounce of sympathy. First, I brought the car in for a recall which was fine, but after they had fixed the car they gave me a list of needed repairs that added up to over $2,000. We had just bought it! Do they not inspect and repair used cars before reselling them?? I took the list to the manager and he basically told me that none of the repairs were legitimate and that the service center was trying to sell me on services I didn’t actually need. Great. So the car is either a xxx or the service center is trying to scam me. Either way, the experience was very unpleasant. I went on without the repairs, however I did end up having to replace the brake pads after only two months. Whatever, not a huge deal. But then the transmission starts slipping! I understand I bought a used car, but I thought a Kia dealership would actually repair their preowned vehicles before reselling them. Apparently not. So then I was back at the dealership again and the service center wanted $100 just to tell me what was wrong with the car. I told the manager that I would pay for the repairs, I just wanted to know what was wrong and didn’t think I should have to pay to know, especially since they should have fixed these problems before selling me the car. He took my number and said he would see if he could work something out. Of course, I never heard from anyone. So then the inevitable came and after hardly half a year of ownership the car breaks down on the side of the road. I went to the dealership and the GM Ben Burton wouldn’t even make eye contact with me while I explained the situation. Again, they showed no remorse, took no responsibility and did nothing to help me. I understand that there are risks involved when purchasing a used car but I also expect an official dealership to not sell xxx vehicles that break down after only a few months. When we bought the car they told me they had done a thorough end-to-end inspection but after it broke down they changed the story, saying they only check to see if they start, stop and steer. If I’m truly in the wrong and there’s really nothing they’re responsible for then I would at least expect a little sympathy, or at the VERY least expect the GM to look me in the eyes when he tells me he doesn’t care about my problems. This guy didn’t get out of his chair, didn’t shake my hand, didn’t even look up from his computer. No apologies. No concerns. I’ve never been treated so poorly in a customer service/sales environment. I won’t give this dealership another dollar nor will I ever recommend them to other unsuspecting victims. As someone that works in sales and marketing and understands the importance of public feedback, I’ve never written a negative review. However, I’ve been to this dealership four or five times now and given them plenty of opportunities to redeem themselves and prevent this negativity. More
