UPDATE: NOT AS HAPPY AS I THOUGHT. I was told during finance that to cancel my previous maintenance policy on my 2022 BMW trade, I needed to contact my BMW dealership in NY. The problem was that in NY (and MD), cancellation of said policy can only be done in the first 60 days of ownership. After 60 days, the maintenance plan is tied to the VIN and not cancelable. I find it extremely hard to believe Passport BMW did not know this and instead, I believe they chose not to tell me so as to sell me a new maintenance plan without negotiating. Once I was told there was no rebate possible, and that the contract language for NY and MD cancellation policy was identical—listed together—on the same line—I felt I’d been lied to. Once I pointed this out to Passport: that (1) they had to know, but did not tell me, (2) did not check when their policy guidance included NY on the same line, and finally—(3) the dealer said there was nothing they could do now—I had an overwhelming feeling they took advantage of me. NOT A GOOD FEELING. Call me a xxxxxxx, but the bottom line is as a major BMW dealer, they had to know, or at least should have known or checked on it. They did nothing, which leads me to believe they knew about it. So now I’m the sucker. Not exactly “the BMW experience” I’m accustomed to, or wanted.
