I purchased a 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 (Certified Pre-Owned) from Pedder Hyundai of Poway on 03/28. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing. On the very same evening after purchase, I n from Pedder Hyundai of Poway on 03/28. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing. On the very same evening after purchase, I noticed a visible dent on the passenger-side door. To verify, I checked the original listing on CarGurus and found that the dent was clearly visible in the listing photos as well. This confirms that the vehicle was sold to me with the dent already present, yet this was never disclosed during the sale. As a buyer, I specifically chose a Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned vehicle expecting transparency and a hassle-free experience—similar to buying a new car. At a minimum, I expected: Full disclosure of visible defects A proper certified inspection report (which I was never provided) When I returned to the dealership the next day, I was told the car was sold “as-is” and that it was my responsibility to have noticed the issue. This response was both dismissive and unacceptable. I escalated this further through Hyundai Customer Care and was advised to speak with the dealership’s general manager. When I went back again, I was met with the same response from the sales manager, who reiterated that nothing could be done. What’s most concerning is the lack of transparency. If a visible defect was known—and clearly visible in their own listing—why was it not disclosed upfront? That undermines trust and defeats the purpose of purchasing a certified vehicle. Adding to this, the current listing appears to have updated photos that no longer show the affected side of the vehicle, which raises further concerns about transparency. Overall, this has been a very disappointing experience. I expected professionalism and accountability when purchasing a certified vehicle, but instead felt misled and unsupported after the sale. I would strongly advise potential buyers to carefully inspect vehicles and ensure full disclosure before purchasing from this dealership. More
