Hi Tom, My name is Patrick Kiley. I purchased the vehicle last Oct / Nov. Thanks for your offer to help. After leaving countless voice mails at the dealership without getting any return calls, it has been really frustrating. I assumed it was because I refused to pay the fee that was sneaked past me after we agreed on a final price. It wasn't about the money (given the total cost of the car)- I just thought it was slimy and refused to be taken advantage of. Also, for your information, in addition to the $600 I just spent on brake pads, the tire sensor cost me $50 at Huntington Toyota. I was told it was under warranty but had to pay a deductible. That would be fine except for the fact that the light was on when I took it out for a test drive. Of course, the light was off when they handed me the keys, and went back on about 20 miles after I drove it out of the dealership. I drove around with the light on for a couple of months, constantly trying to adjust tire pressure, and the light would go on and off all the time, before I finally decided to take it in to Huntington Toyota. Now I'm being told by my local mechanic it needs 30,000 mile maintenance. When I bought the car (at 28k), I asked the salesman if the 30,000 maintenance work had been done. He said yes. And, I also assumed the 160 point inspection was more extensive than the 30,000 maintenance anyway. My local mechanic said he doubted it had been done.

Hi Patrick, Thank you for the info. I am pulling the documents for the transaction and the vehicle history right now so that I can review it for myself. Obviously any vehicle that slips through concerns me a great deal and I want to check and see how this happened and also how it can be avoiced in the future. What can we do to earn your confidence again and earn your business in the future? I will do my best to get to the bottom of this and correct the issue.

kileyp responded

Two things would go a long way: 1) If the brake pads had more than 50% wear remaining, they wouldn't have needed to be replaced so quickly. So reimbursement for that would be great. 2) Complimentary 30,000 maintenance in light of the fact that recall work and the 160 point check wasn't done on the car seems fair. I would be willing to let the tire sensor slide given the fact that it only cost me $50. But it was pretty frustrating and time consuming first couple of months trying to figure out why it kept going on and off.
