We always want to give a customer the most for their trade and quote what the book value may be prior to a full inspection. Once a vehicle inspection takes place, any items that need to be repaired (dents, mechanical issues) or replaced (tires, brakes, etc.) are deducted from the value. Thank you for your response; I did call Beverly yesterday, she has not returned my call yet. My biggest issue is when I called to check on the availability of the truck, your sales person told me that the original customer was in the office and may decline to purchase the vehicle. He stated he would call me back if they declined and with a price. He did call back and said he verified the price was $111k and the last time (month or so ago) they offered me 76k for my truck. When I got there the sales person and I went to look at the truck. He then verified with me the sale price was still 111k. Once the paperwork was drawn up, none of that was the case. 68k for my trade, I have been in the automotive industry for 40 years, I have learned a thing or two along the way. There is nothing wrong with my truck and it is still under factory warranty. All said and done they wanted me to finance 73k. At 111k and 74k trade, I could have worked with that. I was at your dealership within 2 hours after the original customer left. His price was MSRP, around 97k. I get supply and demand but seriously? I also believe that due to the fact that your sales manager and fleet manager were arguing over who gets the truck, had a play in what happened to me. The truck is off the new vehicle site and now listed with fleet... he must of won the fight. Thank you Chris C.
