I've had the WORST experience ever at this dealership and with Lincoln not standing behind their vehicle. I purchased a certified pre-owned 2016 Lincoln MKX (with 36,000 miles) in September 2019. Till this d with Lincoln not standing behind their vehicle. I purchased a certified pre-owned 2016 Lincoln MKX (with 36,000 miles) in September 2019. Till this day, I've only put 6,000 miles on my SUV. It has spent more time being repaired than I've had to enjoy it. Lincoln headquarters nor this dealership are willing to accommodate me in anyway. I've been very patient with them attempting to fix the vehicle on multiple occasions. But, after it broke down in the middle of the parkway (I only had the vehicle back for one week after it being returned to me for the fourth time) and they are still not willing to accommodate me. I just want to warn people to save them money, grief and aggravation...DO NOT GO HERE!! I had to hire an attorney to get me a refund! Lincoln still won't refund me. I write this on behalf of my deceased father. Ford committed deceptive trade practices and elder abuse by taking $5,000 from my father for a lease when he was visibly suffering with stage 4 pancreatic committed deceptive trade practices and elder abuse by taking $5,000 from my father for a lease when he was visibly suffering with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and under duress during the transacton. My father was wearing glasses with no lenses, had visibly peed his pants and could hardly walk. Dad was clearly not in the right frame of mind. My father leased the vehicle on October 10, 2020, putting $5,000 down. He passed on December 24, 2020. My dad had the vehicle for just over 2 months. I requested that Ford do the right thing and return the $5,000. Ford refused to refund the money, and repossesed the car. They took back a virtually brand new car and kept the $5,000. This is fraud, elder abuse, and unjust enrichment. We request that Ford do the correct thing and return the money. Financial abuse of an elder or dependent adult occurs when a person or entity retains personal property of an elder by undue influence or retains the property and the person or entity knew or should have known that this conduct is likely to be harmful to the elder. I believe that Ford unduly influenced my father to pay $5,000 toward a lease, when he was old, very sick and not of full mental capacity. Moreover, by refusing to return the $5,000, Ford has reason to know that its retention of the money is likely to hurt the beneficiary of my father's estate, my elderly mother. Under N.J.S.A. 52:27D-409(a), I am able to report this exploitation to the NJ authorities. Lucca v. Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., 441 N.J. Super. 301, 313, 117 A.3d 1267, 1274 (Law. Div. 2015). Ford's actions also constitute deceptive trade practices under New Jersey law. Under N.J. Stat. Ann. § 2C:21-7, "[a] person commits an offense if in the course of business he ..."[m]akes a false or misleading written statement for the purpose of obtaining property or credit...." Also, [a] person commits a crime of the fourth degree if by deception as to the contents of the instrument, he causes or induces another to execute any instrument affecting, purporting to affect, or likely to affect the pecuniary interest of any person."
