Screwing a first time car buyer I recently bought my first used car through the event at the world arena and while I am satisfied with the car, I realized that I had been screwed by I recently bought my first used car through the event at the world arena and while I am satisfied with the car, I realized that I had been screwed by the financing department. I was sent counter offers through the mail that would have lowered my monthly payment $60-$70/month. The person I dealt with in financing said my only option, due to the vehicle being high mileage, was to get the extended warranty. Come to find out that several lenders would've financed me without the warranty which added $2,500 or so to the total vehicle price. If you are told the same thing really question them on it if you aren't wanting the warranty. More
